I tried buying zen back before this change but had no hope because the PWE zen page was such a clusterf**k of retardedness.

I never had any problems with buying the cryptic virtual vouchers for c-store points. I'm lucky that I bought my Long range Science Vessel retrofit on Monday because I feel that it may be my last purchase.

Also with this change comes the increase of dilithium to c-points in the exchange and I'm assuming this will continue to raise, so I plan on throwing that dilithium towards the construction of the fleet's star base instead, if or when season 6 comes out and if I'm still playing.

The unannounced changes suck, I'm afraid that the next time that I log in to the game everything will have changed and we all find out that we are now playing Firefly online.

    I'm rambling, its late.

This is nuts! Why on earth did they have to go and make this stuff so incredibly complicated (far more than it had to be)? Well done, Perfect World. Well done. Lifetime and Gold Members better still get their stipends. If you are going to make us buy Zen points, then just switch everything over for freak's sake! And the value of those points better not go down. 400 points in this game buys a lot less than Champions Online already. I haven't even checked what this did to that account yet. Ugh.

NOTE: I just checked and for anyone still playing Champions they haven't changed that yet. If you log in with your new Perfect World name and password it still links back to your old Cryptic Account and the point system is still the same.

Firefly Online would be pretty fun, though

Beyond the epic fail that is this new form of insanity is the complete lack of communication about it. So the website was going to be down for a few hours (for what no one said - perhaps to bring back some lost functionality - perhaps to make it better?) - then a day - now this abortion of a website.

Did they just think that no one was going to notice? That they would just do it because they knew there would be a run on c-points if anyone got a heads up?

Anyway I look at it I see this as the STO management treating their customers (and fans) with nothing but contempt.

You would think that spending money on the game would be easy as hell. Like before. You saw something in-game that you wanted, you pressed one or two buttons and "Whoochh!", the points to buy it where at your disposal. Now we have to Buy Zen, transfer, do the math and hope for the best?! :frown:

You guys know you can buy Perfect World currency on cards right?
It is not half as hard to figure out as people are making it, slow down take a few breaths and use your heads.

I shouldn't have to run to the store to buy fake Internet money.

    I?m sorry?! Are you serious??
Slow down and take a few breaths?? Is anyone else reading this? We can?t buy stuff and give Cryptic money, and they?re telling us to slow down and take a few breaths, and use our heads. WHAT IS THIS?!?!

Ups, My bad. Good thing when you can?t even tell the diffrence between a user and a emplyee anymore. This is ever worse than I thought. Is anything actually working like it used to anymore?!

And still.... How do I buy C-points?
A little surprised that the DEVS haven?t been faster to respond about this. But maybe they?re just overwhelmed by the shere number of complaints...

PWE must not like my money.

I think it's probably safe to say whatever C-Points I'm sitting on right now are the last they will be getting from me for quite... a... while.

So much for that T5 Akira I was looking at buying. Pretty ship, but, obviously not for sale.

But it dosen?t work for me. I can?t make the choices about game, and server. Why do this do difficult when the old way was faster and easier? They said last week that STO is thriwing and continues to grow. Why change that?? This is not okay. I have actually spent the whole day here instead of buying points. I don?t know how, and I really cannot make it work.
    Lost income from Cryptic.

I thought the idea of this transition was to make things simpler? Instead buying C-store points is a TON of Hassle.

Yesterday: Buying C-store points was a simple click of a button while in-game.

    Today:
    • Click on the button, STO gets minimized, and the PW Zen page is brought up.
    • You have to fill out a couple of forms for information.
    • Buy Zen
    • Wait for "review" (which takes at least 4 hours).
    • Convert Zen to C-store points.
    • Another Wait.
    • Get C-Store points, minus whatever exchange cost.

So if you wanted to buy the Armitage, before you can buy 2000 C-store points and that was it. Now, you have to buy more than 2000 Zen to equal that 2000 C-store points to buy that ship.

I can't help but feeling this is a scam in making you buy more than you need.

    Two fixes to this post.

One, "Up to 4 hours" not "At least 4 hours."

Second, there isn't an exchange cost. $10 still buys you the same amount of C-Points at the end of the day, even after "conversion."

If you are going through steam it seems pretty quick. You have a similar process... you arrange the purchase in STO, then it transfers you to steam where you put $ in your 'steam wallet'... then it transfers you back to STO where you confirm spending them.

    You spend $25 either way.

In the C-Store you buy the ship for $25 or 2k cpoints. In zen you have to grab 2500 zen which comes out to 2k cpoints, which is for some odd reason, $25.

I have said it before, but the C-Store prices should be converted to Zen prices and our current Cryptic Point balances should be converted to Zen. That way we will know the exact monetary price of any virtual item without doing a conversion and the system will be the same after the initial process to activate the C-Store. Having to transfer points is annoying and there is no good reason to not go to one virtual currency for all of PWE's games.

    That'd be nice.
