Are you kidding me with the BUYING of C-points?!?!?!

cosmoscolacosmoscola Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Felt like buying some more C-points today. Visited the site, and entered the C-store. Puched the butten "Buy more", expecting to see the traditional UI for buying points.
EPIC FAIL ON AN EPIC LEVEL!!
Now this may just be me, but come Hell or high waters, I scurred around for abaout a minute and the got the hell out of there!

What have you done?!
Yes, I linked my cryptic account with PWE, for the in-game rewards, now.... Can I undo that?!

Do I have to see that thing of a page everytime that I want to buy my points now.

I liked the way it was: Puch the button and be done with it! And NO, this is not a case of "It was better before", this is a case of "WTF"

I understood NADA! NADA! NADA! And I?ll say it again; NADAA!!!

So, if I want to buy C-points, I first have to Charge up Zen (!), and the Transfer Zen to C-points, and along the way have a calculator beside me?
Do I have to be some kind of a math genius to do this? How on earth is someone as bad at math as me, ever going to now how much to Charge up, and transfer?!
Now Cryptic, I love you. I love the game. I love the work you put in to it. I even like the new look of the webpage. But this. Buying points now....

THE FACT THAT I?M WRITING THIS INSTEAD OF BUYING POINTS SHOULD SAY IT ALL!

Eighter you change it back, or I?m gonna need a walktrough like you?ve never seen it before, if you want me to understand this process. PLEASE HELP!

Well, once the entire first page of the forum fills up with thread such as this one ALL highlighting the exact same problem you'd hope they'd realise how badly they screwed the pooch.

I find it mildly amusing that alongside all the other things they messed up that I'm sure PWE don't give 2 stuffs about (avatars etc) they have also managed to TRIBBLE up the ONE thing you thinks they'd have been VERY keen to preserve:

The ability for people to give them money. . . .

The level of FAIL is really quite awesome. (I think it need a qualifier a level up from EPIC)

    Something like this.
    Exactly this.
Change over and forced combining of accounts.
Topped off by the C Point ... lets call it a debacle.

How many people WOULD have purchased c-points , that now ...
... now are just complaining about it on the forums ?

How many aren't caring enough to complain ?
How many (like 3 friends) , have said this forced merging is total TRIBBLE (They used stronger words) , and have because of it all but left the game for good ??

So much for simplifying the game's economy: Zen, C-points, Dilithium, Lobi, ECs, tears, lol...

My last log-in says sometime in 1969, but I was thinking it was April 1st, because, wow, what a prank this fiasco is!

Yeah! I say that one. Just posted another tread about stuff like that. But the thing i find most irritating is the C-points. Good luck with that one!

It's 6:55AM in CA right now. Now, every other MMO company I've had experience with -even CCP who are famous for their customer relations ****ups- has had at least a community rep on duty through the night to monitor any major changes to their backend systems, but apparently paying one guy a little extra to do a nightshift isn't in PW's budget for Cryptic

We are PWE. Your forums and game accounts will be added to our own. Your community will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.

No, don?t get me wrong Cryptic. I wasn?t gonna buy a MASSIVE amount of C-points. Just 500. But I bough another 500 last week. And I got my roommate to by 2000 points the same week. Before that, I bought The Sience retrofit for my second roommate. And before that I bought the Odyssey-pack. And before that the Dreadnought. And in between all this some minor purchases for inventory slots and other stuff. It kind of adds up. And now... I really don?t know how. Feel stupid as hell. I really don?t know how. I don?t.
    HEAR MY PLEA!

I understand that if you brought STO through steam you can still buy c-points through that. there is a thread in the c-store forum somewhere as others have been having troubles too.
Well.. this is annoying reminds of another game that did something similar

C-points should just go away. I mean it's obvious with the forum change that it's GONNA happen sooner or later. I would not be surprised that Season 6 has a non-reported change to Zen. 1 USD = 100 Zen = 80 C-points
If anything the C-point is the odd man in the mix, base 80 instead of 100, WTF?!

I don't get all the shock about this, it was obviously going to happen. When I took a look at the Never Winter boards a couple weeks ago and saw they had changed I realized was just a matter of time. The parent company wasn't going to keep two separate systems running forever.

I changed over last week, bought the 50 buck bundle and got 300 extra zen (240cp). I have to go thru the list of stuff offering free zen, I haven't gotten to that yet.

I tried to buy some Zen the other day and ended up with a phone call from my bank worried that the "Moneybookers.com" that PWE uses to process credit cards was fraud. Apparently, that service has a really bad reputation. Guess I'm sticking with Steam Wallet.

If you don't have an objection to using Steam, it's worth pointing out that it costs you nothing to re-acquire the game in Steam -- it doesn't cost anything (other than the time downloading and putting up with Steam social features, which you can admittedly shut off)

Wicks and Things: NW-DI4FMZRR4 : The Fenwick merchant family has lost a caravan! Can you help?

Beggar's Hollow: NW-DR6YG4J2L : Someone, or something, has stolen away many of the Fenwicks' children! Can you find out what happened to them?

I merged my accounts long before the switchover and have been buying points this way a long time. i dont see a big deal. Before you were buying directly from cryptic, which is why you could just buy them ingame.

now your buying from PWE and PWE doesnt sell Cryptic points, they sell Zen. so you have to goto their webpage buy the zen then covert it to CPoints. it takes all of like... 2 minutes.

The workaround that I found for the Zen-to-CP is to just buy the CP Gift cards. Seems that they no longer offer that option however...

Now am using Steam Wallet instead... I hope they just move completely to Zen, or give us some sort of alternative to all this conversion nonsense... Until that time, I'll just go to my local GameStop, buy a Steam Wallet gift card ($20 or $50 denominations) and then get CP in game through Steam...

Why are they making it so difficult for us to GIVE THEM OUR MONEY?

because they were so concerned with keeping the money we already gave them, the hired a monkey to set up the transfer the ofcorse the monkey got drunk on the job and they were too cheep to hire a new monkey so we ended up with this.
