I left the game not long after the VM nerf in protest of the lack of klingon and pvp content and my beloved Joined Trill having never made a KDF captain in release, only fed sci/sci and tac/esc captains.
Only just resubbed and have made myself a new Joined Trill KDF engineer, hurray!
Now my fellow KDF enlighten me...
Is it no longer monster play?
Are there enough missions to break up pvp and nebula grinding to a bearable amount?
Has pvp been improved?
Are these new Aegist/Borg sets required for pvp?
Are raptors still naff?
Do the feds still stuck at pvp?

1. No idea what you mean
2. There is now other things to do (missions every 10 levels, sorties, couple other things including the weekly episodes that come out as series.)
3. Define improved
4. No (even though aegis doesn't take much to get if you got tons of EC)
5. No
6. That's argumentative.
Monsterplay is from Lord of the Rings Online, where the bad guy faction could only pvp and was a simply sideshow distraction to playing the free peoples.
Improved is, are there new maps? Improved queues (less 5v2/3 stuff).Less stuff like old viral matrix and reverse shield polarity.

Sounds better at least than how it was.
Well honestly yes the feds do still suck on the most point
No, there is more content that you can do without even touching pvp if you wanted too to level. The sorties are actually quite a nice addition and can be done every 30 minutes (and there is two that'll take you longer than 30 to do one at a time).
Queues are quite improved so the 5v2 has gone down to the point I've never run into it. (Think I once saw 5v4 but thats due to someone disconnecting at a bad time). VM is pretty rare and RSP got knocked to only lasting5 seconds with a shared cooldown so it's used as the "OH TRIBBLE IM GONNA DIE" button like it was supposed to be.

1) It's still monster play.
2) No. And dstahl gets mad and yells at people whenever they bring it up.
3) If you left that long ago I think you'll find that PvP in STO is a LOT different than you remember.
4) Some people think so. I don't PvP a lot so I'm not qualified to answer that.
5) No.
6) Yes. New threads calling for the devs to 'nerf Klingons' are started at least once a week.

1. Not really.
2. I believe yes. I am also balancing with RP and Fedplay though. Might be different if you focus on KDF only.
3. In some areas.
4. Depends on people's skill. They do give a noticable edge.
5. Not really, but compared to the Bird-of-Prey they feel kind of redundant.
6. They've gotten better (some Klinks play Feds, some Feds play Klinks now), but some never learn.

1) No, that's not to say there's an abundance of content, but give the weeklies another year and it should have about the same that Feds launched with. course, the Feds get the weeklies too, but you know, I'll take any bone Cryptic throws me.
2) Almost, but we're not there yet. There are 8 Klingon specific missions, 10 missions that came out as weeklies (2 sets of 5 each), multiple dailies that came out with those, and the sorties in Pi Canis. We also get some of the Borg/Undine content in Gamma Orionis. Like I said above, give it a year and there should be enough to do 1 story mission per level like the feds are able to do.
3) Cannot comment, I don't PvP.
4) See above, I think not.
5) I could answer you if I knew WTF naff meant.
6) Can't personally comment but there are lots of threads calling for nerfs to Klingons, so probably.
As far as content. With the Daliys, Defra-Eta,Pi Canus, I think I can get two levels in two hours. Which I think is respeciable. Plus you can replay the Featured Episode Series, there are a couple that you could do in the Devidian sereis that would take no time at all and are fun.
My current new Klingon is a Commander and as yet to do Exploration or PvP. Did a few Empire Defnese, but just the "introduction" where you get a TRIBBLE load of XP.
Well I'm halfway through LTC5 and it's definitely much more fun than when I went klingon in beta, pretty comparable to the fed experience, but I know this is really more like Tortuga at AoC launch than a complete thing. Ty for opinions. Anyway naff
Well I just got my Gorn to Lt Gen last night, giving me three KDF Lt. Gens to my one Fed Vice Admiral, so clearly I prefer the KDF experience.
Are we still Monster play? No not really. But we suffer from a lack of an identity to counter that of the Feds. What I mean by this is that the Feds episodes (at least the early ones) give them an understanding of what their role is in the current "universe". The KDF on the other hand especially because they are more of a conglomeration of like minded powers in STO don't really have a feel for why they are fighting the Feds. Sadly we have no episodes dedicated to the Undine threat that really is the core of our beef with the Feds and this fails to give the KDF a sense of "self" if you will.
There are not enough "episodic" missions to break up the grinding be it PvP, Nebula or Expanse, or even the new daily Pi Canis missions. Even with the weeklies you will have to grind. That being said, the grind is not like the ugly grind my first KDF toon did to get to what was the level cap at the time.
PvP really hasn't changed all that much, they've made adjustments here and there (mostly with abilities), but the core problem of being stuck in a boxing match with no real purpose to the contest remains. The current PvP they have is great for a 10-20 minute PvP fix, but after playing these games over and over it gets dull quickly. We need something bigger and more interesting. (See my Kavrot Sector idea for more on this)
The sets are not necessary yet, but I fear as they become more common and new sets are added some sort of set will become essential. The basic idea of these sets reminds me greatly of the SWG jewelry sets and those quickly became vital to high end competition.
Raptors can be great ships, while they have their own set of weaknesses like all escorts if the role you want to play is pure DPS, they are hard to beat, but easily killed, if you know what I mean.
To be fair much of the above can be applied to the Fed side too. The game really does have a lack of direction and focus in many places, no doubt the by product of the truncated development time.

Having been with STO since the 'dawn of time'(i.e., Closed Beta) like many other KDF I have to say that while I totally agree with the above quote I also have to chime in that great strides have been made at no doubt alot of hard work by an understaffed production team.
Better, but still lacking. X-/ We're finally getting more clothing, gear, ships, missions, etc-but it's still a bigger Grind Fest than the Feds and we still don't have Diplomacy. Even Klinks have diplomats in TV/Movie ST, they're just more combat oriented and brow-beating than the other races. XD

This is very true. My point was more that where the game lacks in many ways it is across the board and not specific to the KDF side.
any new ships since they released that awfull carrier? thats when i left, the orion woman in the bikini only kept my interese a few weeks after that update..lol

Yes. They released a Orion Cruiser that should nicely contrast the beauty of your bikini-clad Orion, a Gorn Fleet Support Vessel and the Nausicaan Siege Raider. Please note that the last is currenlty C-Store only, though there is hope that it gets also an (expensive!) in-game acquisition option. And the Vor'cha is now also available as a retrofit for tier 5.

Oh, and there's KDF crafting now.
Fixed that typo for you.
and don't forget the gregariuos laughter and drink spillage when saying "Krafting". Its highly important for an accurate KDF Krafting portrayal.

?? If its about fire. Thats easy!!
Where did I leave my flares and petrol at?
Is this like "Last Klingon Standing"? That'd be a fun mini-game and great accolade.
