This morning I tried to go into a mission on the foundry to edit. A small pop-up appeared that said Loading the Foundry. Waiting to edit, 5 people ahead of you in the queue. After waiting for 15min the number went down to 3 people ahead of me, I hit cancel and the system hung on the transport room graphic with no buttons or options. I had to quit out of STO and re-launch. And when I tried again to edit a mision, I was told 8 people are ahead of me!!!!
Is this new? Why is it taking so long to load? Is anyone else having this problem?
I made it all the way to 0, and nothing happened. After 10 mins of 0 people in line in front of me, I hit cancel. Then I had same issue of transporter room, with only the minimize and window buttons available.
been doing this since the update. hopefully they know about this already and are working on it. don't think anyone is getting in, they are just quiting.
if i remember it always waited for the server anyway. the que is probly the server is still down after the patch or something. remember, save often

Actually, I had this issue last night, but was finally able to get into the editor after approximately a 30 minute wait. Today, however, that doesn't seem to be the case.
If this is going to be the new standard of entry into the editor, I would like to flag the system, get in a queue, then, while waiting for the editor to load, be able to go to Tribble, and review missions.
Once I move up in the queue, and the editor starts loading for me, the system sends a message to my chat window, letting me know that the editor is ready for me.
I think it just needs to go back to the way it was before they broke it. A queuing system is ridiculous. If this ever makes it to the live server the wait times will be in days, not minutes or hours if it stays like this.
Yep, it is broke all right. My major woe on this issue is the constant crashing. My CTD averages around 1 out of 5 preview runs. Also, the Foundry never functioned more than an hour without CTD. I need to run a lot of previews to align elements properly. This quene means I wait in line for 5-10 mins, do some work, crash out after 5-10 mins then wait in line again... Good to encurage me to do other stuff, like spend time with the family, code YHTK, watch Star Trek or sleep, but rather annoying when I want to get something done.
okay, this is ridiculous! I've been waiting for 20mins to edit one little thing on a Foundry mission and there have been 5 people ahead of me in the queue! Now its down to 4! I'm sorry but this is where I need to say Cryptic WTH! Please get this fixed, nobody is going to want to wait half an hour to get in to make a mission.
We found a misconfiguration and fixed it. ZRex is verifying that things are looking good. However, go ahead and try to edit stuff now. The allowed number of simultaneous editors should be significantly greater.

I can assure you that Sierra was using *soon* back in the days of The Realm.
I used to play something called The Realm, but it was Codemasters, and they are still online last I checked.:) I sometimes wonder if my player is still floating around in there somewhere since I sold my account.

They didn't try to trademark a single word, though.
hehe another company that really pushes the meaning of "soon" to the limit is NCSoft.
When they released Lineage2 they said that server transfer would be going live soon...little over 4 years later they added server transfers. Their site for Lineage2 is little over 3 years outdated and with 2-3 major updates per year means that allot of the new items, skills and other things are missing or incorrect, they have stated several times that it will soon get updated...yea right...

CCP (Developers of EVE Online) has that beat> CCPhas claimed that the ability for player's avatars will be able to "walk in stations" is "coming soon" since December 2006 and EVERY YEAR they say Incarna (the name of the update with the feature will soon be released. January 2011; and the feature is still "coming soon".
Yesterday, I set myself a goal to get into the foundry. It's about 11am and the queue was at 7, so I curled up on the coutch I began watching Walk Hard the Dewey Cox Story, the self indulgent directors cut, Runtime 2hrs. After 2 hrs, I look up, the queue is at 2 people. So, I decide to watch Spys Like Us, runtime 1hr 40min. 30 mins later, 0 people ahead of me in queue. 30 mins after that, I'm in the Foundry. From what I can tell, build your missions in the middle of the night and not in the afternoon. Thanks devs for checking into it.

If this is something new, it:
a.) stinks and
b.) is bugged because if it does progress to 0 (which is randomly possible) you never actually enter the UCG editor.
Is this a new thing? Are we possibly getting ready for a move to Holodeck? Is this a method of preventing the inevitable crash of the Holodeck server?
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANN!

Probably "It will probably be fixed Soon"

What do you guys think?
if it is (Q forbid) you idea is reasonable and beyond cryptics ability to provide.
15 - 30 minutes? You're lucky. After an hour, I purposely crashed my client. Got tired of waiting.
If in fact the Foundry isn't letting people in, I hope someone lets us know that.
I've seen the Trademark attributed to Auran games (now N3V) starting back in 2000.

Hopefully, once the Devs see this, we'll get an update, but stuff like this happens with beta features.
They didn't try to trademark a single word, though.
how many simultaneous editors are allowed?
