I do recommend raidi... err, inspecting the freighters in Pi Canis.

You can also scan the Exploration Clusters, but that's not nearly as fun or productive.

Yeah, Ive been doing Pi Canis, but its like +90% high level stuff....but yeah, I just found the anamolies in nebulas actually give out stuff now. Its no longer like looking under rocks all day for nothing.

Does it matter where you gather with resoect to what you get? I need low level stuff because I have yet to do any crafting up to this point.

Does running on "Advanced" result in larger or better drops within the "mini-missions" within the unknown systems inside the nebula?

Yus! The Exploration Clusters are tier-specific, meaning you get the lowest tier of anomalies where you also get the lowest tier of Exploration Badges. Just check the mission NPCs for the Badge rewards to get an orientation on where you have to go.

Normal mission anomalies scale to your level though, I think.

I didn't notice any change there.

You'll also only get T1 and T2 samples during the weekly missions or their associated dailies. Not ideal for farming, but if you're doing them, be sure to snag all the anomalies.

Otherwise, think the lowest level exploration zone is T'ong? The left most one, anyway.

As far as I know, the difficulty slider does not affect anomaly drops. It might make sense for the Pi Canis stuff, but generally speaking, it doesn't get more difficult to scan an anomaly. :)

Item loot drops should change, whether you actually notice it is a matter of perception and chance.

The Deferi daily missions are my farming spot for the low level stuff. I'll queue up for my PvP dailies and then do the Deferi dailies while waiting for a match to start.

The exploration missions have anomalies in them too. You can warp in and get what you want without actually completing the mission. If its a combat mission just cloak as soon as you warp in so the enemy doesnt attack you and then head toward the nearest anomaly.

Tried to gather some samples for my BG in T'Ong Nebula. Very low rate of samples there :(

I'm not sure how samples drop in other places, but T'Ong doesnt seem that bad. You rarely get more 4 or more (the most ive seen is 5 I believe), but you routinley get 3 samples per drop.

There are several sample spawns, especially in the center cluster. They will generally rapidly re-spawn a few times before the spawn goes on a short cool down. I've had good look sitting on a spawn and find it is equally effective to stay on the move, making circuits of the known sample spawns. I recommend sample collection be done in a BoP, I just assum eit has some advantages du to its maneuverability...perhaps even acceleration.

The klingon missions do not seem as generous as the fed ones, i am not getting as many every time my klingon goes out as my feds would.
