I just published my newest mission, "Save the Utopia."
Starfleet has lost communication with its most advanced ship building facility, Utopia Planitia. Make a quick warp jump to Mars and discover what's going on.
Since you can't enter a map from SOL, in this case a map made to look like Mars, I had to get "creative" with the transportation method.
I'd really like to know what you guys think of it. It's my largest mission yet!
i read your 'navigating sector space via bridge' 1) its just nostalgia like interiors, adds nothing in the long run, i prefer tangible features which enhance the overall quality of the game. And bring in people, no one is going to subscribe because they can fly around from a bridge, diverse subscriber base means have something to cater to everyone.
Secondly since your bridge right now is just an interior map instance which you load when you go to the bridge, it can't be done. It would have to be a simulation type thing where the game world outside your ship is still being processed while you are on your bridge. Since it isn't this isn't possible right now.

This isn't really on topic, but I'll respond to your comments anyway. What I suggested is possible right now. In fact, the UGC mission I created does a crude version of what I proposed, but doesn't have the timer, or starfield animation. There's no need to track your travel through Sector space because you're not there anyway. Essentially, you'd be on your bridge, you'd choose a system to fly to, and then the system waits before dropping you into the system instance. There is no "traveling".
