1. I am trying to make a mission as when the player spawns into the map, at the spawn point the dialog activates. I cannot figure out how to do this...

2. How do I link maps to conversations another thing I can't figure out...

3. How do I tell the mission editor for the person to go to this specific map on the main STO galaxy. Say I want him to go to WOLF 359, how do i tell the editor this is the place he goes, and then use my custom map for it. I can't seem to figure this out.

4. can you put count down timers yet, so after the time say ships warp in or reinforcements come?

simple really. after the character spawns, create a pop- up dialog event in the story tab. You can chosse between character costumes customised and placed on the map, or use your bridge officers. This is really the only option available to use at the moment to do this.

Do you mean talking to contacts? this is done through the Talk to contact objective, and by placing a marker onto the map. the marker can be a placed NPC contact

In the mission start box in the story editor, you can select the map from a drop- down list. by default you start at ESD, however, you can use a drop- down box to select sector block, and then in the sector block, you click the door to the relevant system.

    no.

For Questions 1 through to 3, there are several walkthroughs, the best being done by Darren_Kitlor

have a look through those tutorials

Kirkfat also made a tutorials list thread so you can view all currently available tutorials for Foundry

an interesting thing to note about your 3rd question. You can have a mission start at someplace like Wolf 359 (or Andoria, or vulcan or anywhere), but there doesn't seem to be any way to get the player to go there mid mission.

For instance, you can do this:

Accept the mission...dialogue box guy asks you to go to Wolf 359. The player clicks OK, and goes to Wolf 359 and can click the button to enter your custom map

What you can't do is this:

ACcept the mission...you enter a custom map. Do your objectives, then another dialogue box asks you to beam up and travel to Wolf 359. The character beams up and goes to sector space to continue...

that feature isnt added yet. use Dialog and a warp to map as a workaround for the time being
