Beaming To Other Vessels

I would like the ability to beam to another ship that I can pilot / control. In one mission I am working on I want the Federation captain to be able to beam to a Klingon shuttle, pilot it to a planet and beam down OR land it. I see landing a shuttle on a planet no different map transition wise than beaming down, except that when you show up on the surface of the planet there is a shuttle behind you.

I can imagine a scenario where a Klingon captain boards a Star ship and takes command in order to fight a Borg or Undine vessel, with the option of using some or all of the Federation ship bridge officers to assist him.

Will that ability eventually be included in the Foundry?

Thanks!

Not until that shows up in the regular game in PvE missions. Basically, all the stuff in the Foundry uses assets from the regular game. If you can't do it in the game, you usually can't do it in the Foundry. And because it's beta and there aren't many features yet, you can't even do some stuff the game has already.

I haven't done that one yet. But do you get to fly it through a planet's atmosphere, land, step out of it and see it behind you on the ground as the OP wants? I doubt it :p

I have a Federation shuttle in one of my missions... My BO has a pop-up saying "special-ops team standing by in shuttlebay 2" and an "on my way" response to a map change to the surface with shuttle behind me... mission complete - return to shuttle and interact.. Pop-up says.. "emergency recovery system activated... standing by sir"

You need to use creative dialogue to do things that we cannot actually Show Happening... This is an old Star Trek techno-babble trick to keep the costs of sets and effects way down by just using dialogue to convince the audience of something...

For Example... Did We ever see a Gorn Ship in TOS? Yet we believed that an entire space-fairing, militant lizard race existed, attacked a settlement from up in the hills and had tremendous strength... just from one guy in a rubber suit and some leading dialogue and flashpots...

Just because we cannot actually show something is not a good reason to not make players think it IS Happening... You just have to think outside the box... Dialogue can work miracles... TOS never showed a Shuttle Landing... only a launch and recovery standard cut scene..

No, I don't expect to be able to fly a shuttle to a planet, land and then get out. What I was looking at was more along the lines of beam from my ship to the shuttle, then fly the shuttle within transporter range of the planet and beam down.

Or, fly the shuttle to the planet, then have the bridge officer (or the ship's computer if you are allowed someday to proceed without an away team) say "Ready to land the shuttle". When you transition to the planet map, the shuttle is behind you (you landed and stepped out). When you are ready to leave you click on the shuttle door and hit the 'Return To Orbit' button, and when you transition you are back in space at the helm of the shuttle.

So why bother fly a shuttle when you have your own ship? If you take your ship within transporter range of an enemy planet / base, you will be detected, the alarm sounded, etc. So you take the enemy shuttle instead.

Rosvik... Your approach seems un-necessarily complex and involved... but should be possible if you can find or create a shuttle interior map. Perhaps when I find or make one we can do it your way... However, in the meantime... there are workable alternatives as I stated earlier.

One thing you could do is beam your crew to the bridge of a Klingon ship and pilot it to a destination by interacting with consoles or placing hidden objects in the existing consoles to interact with. You'd never see yourself flying the ship, but it could work in some ways.
