Just wanna check with you guys if you think this is legal and also possible to do. Im thinking the Mass Effect story in Star Trek.


Citadel=Bastion
Alliance: Federation
Asari: Vulcan
Turian: Klingon
Salarian: Ferengi
Geth: Borg
Quarian: Breen
Collector: Undine called Gatherer
Relay: Conduit
Drell: Cardassian
Krogan: Hirogen or Jem'Hadar
Reaper: Doomsday Device
Sovereign: Supreme
Harbinger: Herald
Migrant Fleet: Nomadic Fleet
Noveria: Moveria
Feros: Leros
Virmire: Tirmire
Eden Prime: Paradise Prime

and so forth.

The mission start would take you to a different universe.

    Umm no.... if you even attempted it you've already put in writing you are using someone elses IP...no

    That definitely sounds like an infringement of IP rights. Stick with Trek ideas or absolute original ideas to be safe...

    thats not to say you can 'borrow' some ideas and themes. sci-fi shows have been doing that for years.

    Designs is done like that. I have added in enough familiarity that people will recognise the story, but original and Trek enough to appeal to the trekkies online.

    However doing a almost direct rip of another IP that really has ntohing to do with Trek is not only borderline infringing copyright, but it also just not the right thing to do.
