In my test mission I have place a marker on the planet on a space map with a radius a little bigger than the planet. After the player kills 3 Federation ships I have a BO via a pop-up tell the player that the target supply depot has been located and the away team will be transported once the ship is within range.
When the ship reaches the marker the player is asked whether or not to beam down to the surface.
I thought that since the Marker Interaction instruction panel follows the 'Kill Enemy' panel for the ship encounter, crossing the marker boundaries prior to completing the combat mission would not trigger the BO "Beam Down" pop-up, but it does.
I made the marker boundary not much larger than the planet, so you'd have to pretty much go out of your way to cross it during the combat.
Is this the way the marker is intended to work, i.e., reaching it triggers the desired effect regardless of where you are in the mission?
That happened to me when I made my first mission. I made a door an exit point - and whenever you went to it it would let you transition to the next map even without finishing the objectives first.
So I changed it so that the exit transition was set as Whole Map instead. That fixed it. The reach placemarker triggered when I wanted it to.
Can you post a screenshot of your story area around the marker pop-up?
Believe I solved the problem. After the 'Grant Mission Dialogue' window I had created two Mission Start Prompt pop-up windows.
The first one describes the mission. I thought I needed a second one where the ships BO would say 'Ready to Enter the Trimble System'. I deleted the second pop-up which not only solved the problem with the marker but also solved another problem I was having as well.

Awesome! Glad to see you figured it out!
