500 Room Star Ship How I Did it

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
You want that 500 room ship? I use a ground map and ten building block platforms then raised it +100. I got shuttle bay, cargo holds, two transporter rooms, a battle bridge and my ship is still growing. Hope this helps someone. Solved a lot of my problems for me. Do not forget to rase the spawn ponit.

How do you move between the decks? Currently we can't seem to transport between different locations on the same map. Retransitioning back to your map leads to a restart of the first mission on that map, unfortunately.

Ramps work for me. you could build a hole city this way. TOS: The Cloud Minders want the floating City in the clouds now you can build it. As far as moving to the surface I do not use the same map. If some ones
got a better working system post it.

Can you populate it? Does the NPC Y=0 come into effect here?

How do you get the NPC contacts above the y=0 mark?

Some example screenshots would be cool to see, if you can.

NPCs have a Y option but they fall thought the floor right now. I am sure that will be fixed in in time. Characters and BOs do not. I think it is just a bug like firing thought walls. Had not added NPCs tell you asked.

I saw this thread and I've started to build something similar to this and after i got the platforms set up I attempted to put a npc contact on them and I didn't get the y=0 bug at all. I guess they fixed the bug maybe? I'm not getting an problems with it right now....

place a block or some other solid object directly under the NPC and position below and just out of view from what you use for the platform. I got an npc to appear standing in mid air above an energy field using this trick.

I have encountered NPC showing up under the floor in some maps and adjusted the co-ordinates for the correct elevation... did not have any problems with this on many maps... I've had objects show up in the ceilings and floors but was able to make adjustments with creative placements. It seems that some maps have ceiling objects that cause a default zero co-ordinate for elevation that is not what you would expect.

Yep, get that on one of mine, as it's got two sections, one of which is a thousand meters above the other, so stuff defaults to the upper level where they overlap. I can place terrain fine, but NPCs refuse to not get stuck in the ceiling.

A flat plain map would solve everything. I am sure they come out with one because of all the stuff in the game just for building. Only question is when?

Soon hopefully, I was able to get around that whole y=0 bug with little problems but after putting some buildings on i ran into the too many buildings cap which limits the city down to a certain size some with all of the platforms you have to put down... :( After that, I've mostly stopped working on it. Hopefully they'll just get a flat map so you don't have to put everything up in the 500 feet!
