Why only cannons?

Hey all warriors!

Uh I am wondering, and maybe I missed it somewhere., but why does it seem like the only kind of disruptor I can buy on the home world cannons? I don't mind cannons but I like to have a better selection, especially since every other weapon type has all versions for purchase

Okay so not all weapon types...

So the question becomes... why are the klingons stuck using things other then disruptors if we want beam weapons

Or is this just to try and make us PvP instead of PvE

Part of this is a major nod to the fact that Klingons in the show use Disruptors 99% of the time, same reasons why Feds use Phasers. Another part is a holdover from when the KDF faction first launch and despite Cryptic's best efforts we were missing alot of things. One of which was vendors with complete lists of stuff to buy. And I'm not saying complete as in having every energy weapon at every tier, I mean they didn't even have all the disruptor stuff. Even today it's difficult to find what you want even if the vendors had what you are looking for in another Tier.

Sadly your best bet is the Exchange.

The badge vendors do not sell everything so there's some value to drops, to generate a player economy.

That said, if you want to use disruptors, there is a regular energy credits vendor in the shipyard that sells common disruptors of all types for all tiers up to tier X. So disruptors are actually the easiest to get, even in beam form, since you can get anything in common, as well as the limited selection of uncommon+ stuff.

It's weird that the badge vendors sell all kinds of "alien" weaponry, but you have a hard time finding uncommon stuff that actually suits your faction (disruptors and photons, or phasers and photons for Fed). It was the same thing for the old Memory Alpha crafting. And even in the majority of missions you get "alien" weapons instead of disruptors/phasers thrown at you!
Should totally be the other way around. :p

Well, that happens when you mess up the loot table.
It also explains why the Klingons can still find commodity items...that are totally useless to them.:)
