How do I enable sector space travel?

I am currenlty working on a project that takes place in several systems. They are all know systems currenlty in the game. When I end the first part I want to have the players travel through sector space to the next destination. Right now the map transfer at my waypoint is automatically sending me and I don't want that. Anyone know how I can accomplish this?

    You cant ATM. But you can still write the mission dialogue to sound like your traveling to whatever sector you want and then just transfer to your next space map.

    is there a way to "warp" from one space map to the next?


    and is there a way not to "beam" from one ground map to the next?

    Yes if you set a waypoint in space and have your next map be space as well you will warp from one to the next. Its actually pretty cool because you get the warp out animation on one and the warp in on the next.

    i am not getting a warp out effect when i play a map or test the mission. are wrap effect added for published missions?

    Hmm you should be.. when I play tested my mission before publishing it that is what I was gettiing. I haven't played my published version yet. I will check on it and get back to you.

    so if you go from....
    space map -> ground map you get beam in effect.
    ground map -> space map you get beam out effect? (can you stop that. I keep beaming into adn out of my own cargo bay.)
    ground Map -> ground map you get no effect? (can you add that back? I want to beam off a ship i just saved back to my ship interior)
    space map -> space map you get warp out and in effect? (i am still not gettting them on my test.)


    is that all correct?

    and there in no way to go back to sector space, right now?

    you should be able to go back to sector space. set up your mission so it goes space->space and just change whole map to the sector space door you want from the transition box that appears on the story board.

    the person will have to leave the last space map with the leave map button next to the mini map but that should dump them in sector space ready to go to the next one.

    (edit this only works when published, you cant do it in the play test as it wont let you)

    I tried doing that with a transport mission i was working on. I was only able to be dropped into sector space on the first map transition. All subsequent transitions would not give me the option of selecting the sector space door, it only would allow me to select the maps I had created.
