Remember to say the sector in which is the planet for your mision

Just that. Please, remember to do so.

I'm, Trying to play Orianyth part 1 and I can't because I can't go to wherever I'm suposed to start it.

It is a must. Never forget to tell people where in the galaxy they have to go to play it!

Already had to mention this to the author of Flowing Rivers, do people not think "Wait, how will they do my mission with no location?".

This can not be bumped enough! I've had to negatively review quite a few good looking missions so far jut because of this. You must make sure to point out in your mission briefing where a player needs to go! System names alone won't cut it.

Bumped. I'm okay with not putting where you need to go in the objectives that display in the UI, forcing the player to actually READ your dialog, but it should definitely be made clear in the grant mission dialog.

How much exactly should be the standard? Should we just do the system name? Well I got a complaint about that on one of mine. Or how about the system and the sector? (ex JSF-47 of the Hromi sector) I'm not sure if people know the sectors as well either. Then should we bump it up to everything? (JSF-47 of the Hromi sector in the Pi Canis sector block?)

:( The last one looks really clunky to me.

    The sector is trascendental.

In order to find the system in the system list, you have to be INSIDE the sector.

So, allways say the sector in a place that the player will be able to check after he accepted the mission.

Otherwise, lots of people simply will be unable to play your mission untill they happen to fly near where you placed it.

The sector block isn't needed because once inside the sector you can open the system list and click the system in confortable alphabetic order, but without the sector, the player will have to cross around all the galaxy looking for you'r mission (So, it better is wotrth it)

honestly enough should be what it takes to get a player to the site of the gateway to your mission. As a general rule I would say system and major sector block should be enough. IF someone told me 'Go to Bepi 113' or the 'Sierra System' I could spend m,inutes scanning the printed maps I have trying to find those systems. As a side note...if there was perhaps a stellar cartography catalog option...that I could locate them in game easier......*makes a note to ask for this by Christmas time next year*

What I'm doing for my missions is the system name (essentially the door for your mission), and the sector blocks. The sector isn't necessary because once players are in the right sector block, they can use the map to find the system easily.

With sector block, I mean the small portion of the big sector.

You need the big sector to find the planet, but the portion of the sector is not that necessary.

my standard practice is to make sure the system name and sector block are listed in the misison description (the one on the main page above private author notes) as that can be viewed before you select the mission and after you have selected it by going into your journal.

I will also say the system and sector block on the first grant mission bit so the player can read where they have to go straight away when they accept the mission.

I usually then use a reach marker at the spawn location of the first map and then put go to TRIBBLE system but dont list the sector block as it sometimes gets cumbersome on the mission goal tracker.

Since that is my mission you're playing -

It actually does tell you where to go -

[MissionInfo]Head to Sierra Outpost II in Alpha Centuari to begin this mission[/MissionInfo] (straight from the foundry)

    ;)

But I do plan to add it to the side bar mission thingy (can't think of a proper name for it lol) in the full mission to make it less confusing. :)

But I do appreciate feedback (negative or otherwise!) So if other people play this mission and come up with a long list of things let me know in pm's, or even post on here and I'll make sure to read over them before I do the real version on holodeck :)
