When I first tried using foundry everything worked perfectly (even though I had no idea what I was doing) but now every time I try to either load what I was working on or even make a new project it loads for about 5min and then I get an error saying "Time out gameserver" or something like that and takes me back to the login screen
Thats my problem but I also have two questions I want to ask:
1. How do I edit my test character? Appearance, rank, equipment and so forth, it says its easy but i cant find how.
2. How do I make allies that can help me fight an enamy? (Space or ground)

1) Your test character isn't editable at the moment.
2) Find an NPC group that is friendly toward your faction (i.e. Starfleet Group)

I keep getting that as well. Is there a problem with the server? Perhaps all the testers overloaded it again...
There's an annoying bug right now where if you let your character idle too long and you get disconnected due to inactivity, you can't preview maps anymore. It will actually disconnect you if you try.
To resolve this in the meantime, just delete your Foundry character and make another.
hmm, ok my first problem went away by itself when I logged in again but now I have another problem. When I try to test my mission or just a map I get a message saying "An internal error occurred"

have the exact same issue - get "An Internal Server Error Occured" whenever I attempt to 'play' and load my one Space map (it has two maps atm - 1 space, one ground) associated with it. The wierd thing is I know it's starting something up because if I then load my ground map; the initial character dialog popup from the space map window (which got the error) shows first before any of the ground dialog pops up.
Deleted and recreated the test character that was working with that project, - logged out and tried again; and I still get "An Internal Server Error Occured" wghen attempting to load the Space map. It also just crashed the Tribble client to desktop; and the Cryptic Errpr app is sending a full dump as I type this - PID:2104 ETID:11885993 - full dump is about 500 MB in size and has 13 minutes left before it completes (currently 12:07 AM PST Sunday 12/5/10.)
Kinda sad as Ithe Space map was a custom one I put a lot of work into and had it looking and working the way I wanted. I know it's still beta and this will all be wiped but hey, I was really close to publishing and maybe getting some feedback; so if you find a reliable workaround that would allow one to try and save the map that would be great. If not; I hope you can track down whats causing it (it was working fine for hours; the internal server error problem started after I saved, took a break, came back and reloaded the saved version, and trying to do a mission in one sitting is impossible i=f you're doing some tricky maps.
Anyhow, impressed with the base functions available in version 0.3 - I'm looking forward to seeing it get more stable and more fweatures as times gooes forward.
You actually can edit your character. From the character selection screen, hit play instead of create content. This will load you into the tutorial. From here its just like the normal game and you can progress normally and when you get to ESB you can talk to the tailor and customize your character and boffs like normal.
One problem I keep having is when I try to edit or create a ground character. A few seconds after I start customizing the character, my game will crash. This happens every time and it is really annoying. Another thing I noticed (idk if its related) is I cannot rotate the character I'm trying to create (ground or space).
Can we remove deep space encounters from foundry testing? I got stuck in one and unable to leave until I went to editor and back, not a big deal but annoying...

Please yes! I got dragged into one on my way to Celes System (man I forgot how long it takes to get places in a Miranda ) and had to return to the editor and start my journey over.
I'm also getting the "Cannot play map due to internal server error". I actually received it twice, the only way to get around was to completely delete my project and start over. The 2nd occurrence was immediately after the client crashed to the desktop.

You can get around it by deleting your character, as opposed to the project. When you make a new character, he will still have access to all your projects and he should be able to play it fine.

use the Kill mob button if your in test mode. It works on space mobs too.

I've tried that workaround and (unfortunately in my experience sofar); it doesn't always work. (That said, I know this is an early open beta iteration, and I sure this and other issues will get ironed out.)
