Opening doors in a mission

Hello!

So, im wondering if any of you have figured out how to open a door in the mission.
For example, I put down a wall-Door and make it one of the mission parameters to go to the door and interact with it. From here, how do i make sure the door is locked until after I put in the requirement to interact with it, and then at that point, how do i make it open.

    Doors in STO don't work like that for the most part.

    Either they're a blinking object that doesn't open or they're motion activated and permanently unlocked.

    the door wont physically open but if you mean you dont want someone to actually use it then if its part of the story, it will only start 'flashing' once you reach that part of the story. people cant miss the story by accidentally going through it to early.

    so if its talk to contact

    kill 5 enemies

    enter door (to take you to the next map) the door only activates after you kill the 5 enemies

    once its time to enter it will be available, not before.

    Ok, thanks.
    I was trying to avoid the player having to zone and maybe do a door opening thing like in that devidian episode where the engineer can unlock the door(though with this, anybody could once it's time)
    Ah well map zone it is
