Optional or Non-Linear Objectives

So far I'm finding this tool pretty easy to handle. The simplicity of it all is well done. However, I do have some specific questions to which I haven't found answers. I'm hoping someone on the forums can help me out here:

1) Non-Linear Objectives
I have three contacts on the ground. I will need to talk to each of them, and they each spawn a secondary mission objective once I've talked to them. I can talk to them in any order I want, or skip them entirely and talk to the main contact if I've already figured out the answer.

The storyboard setup seems to suggest that dialogue needs to be linear. Do you know if it's possible to do what I've described above?

2) Optional mission objectives
I have three contacts on the ground. I can talk to all of them, but if I am an engineer, the first contact will give me an optional secondary mission objective. The second and third contacts will just talk to me.

Is this possible?

This is currently not possible. The way the story tree is built at the moment, your story and dialogs must be done linearly.

That's mostly true but you can drag an objective next to an existing objective and have two legs of a mission that take place at the same time.

    For example:

    Kill 5 Klingons

    and

    Scan 5 objects

And a player can do them in either order or at the same time.
