Cloaking in sector space. Klingon ships can in fact cloak whilst running at warp speeds, why cant we?
If i am in sector space and decide to wander into federation/contested sector space, i would like to cloak (even though cloaking in sector space does nothing for gameplay) and perhaps allow that cloak to last even into the next system. That way it becomes a true cloak and not just a means to avoid a fight.
This will be particularly interesting if we ever get Open PvP Zones. And as such, it might be very imbalanaced - or create interesting gameplay opportunities. Currently, it's irrelevant so... why not? (maybe because it doesn't really add anything?)
Perhaps in the open pvp zone but really? You are not cloaked in sector space because your powers all deactivate and your hull and crew rapidly recover. This is also done to allow other players to see you to open communications and the like
Indeed, I've wished for this many times simply because, depending on the mission, it can occasionally feel "appropriate" to drop into a system with active cloak (as it often happened in the shows).
It also serves a gameplay purpose, though. Allowing a cloaked approach would avoid spawnganking like we've had it in the End of Beta event in the Sol system (admittedly not much use until we get a similar event again). And it would allow you to sneak away if you happen to once again spawn in the middle of the Fed fleet in Kerrat because the game keeps mixing up the starting zones.
PS: I also miss the semi-transparent cloak effect we had months ago. The blue "ghost ship" look keeps bothering me, though I can imagine why they've changed it. I think it would have been better to consider alternative solutions for team visibility.

Whilst i appreciate the need for the ability to see you in sector space, but klingon faction players can still see and target other cloaked klingon players, so this should have very little impact on klingon to klingon communication.
Plus, the ability to cloak is 100% optional. You dont HAVE to cloak ever. Even in a mission. If you choose to cloak in sector space, then you wear the price of no ability for the federation players to see you and therefore communicate with you.
been wishing for this for quite a while, now, too. wouldn't mind seeing ship to ship combat while in interstellar space as well, atleast along the neutral zones. too many times have I seen starfleet encroaching on Klingon space without challenge
Valias, you'll recall that was a bug, when Klingon ships were almost literally invisible. it's one bug Iwant to see put back in. this blue "cloak" dosn't really do what it's intended to do
That was a bug? Aww. They could've at least make it optional. It looked so much more like a real cloak!
yeah, and I was not impressed to find out that it was "fixed". at the time, Klingon ships were less likely to be visible in PvP, but the thinking was that it was difficult for the player to actually see thier own ship. I had no probs seeing my ship when cloaked
Plus, didn't other "semi-cloaked" ships still have their names over the model, allowing easy identification and mouse-selection? I don't see the problem.

they may have, unless it was disabled in hud options, or set to mouse over

So it just comes down to you flying around as blue lines instead of your ship texture
