ability to place objects outside of interior zones

In an example in the first tutorial area you are on a ship and you can see outside the window of a starship fighting a borg cube, it would be nice if you were able to place things ouside of an interior like ships or objects that can be viewed in a window (for example if you were able to have a blank copy of the earth starbase map

i just think that would be cool if you could populate it with various ships or such :-) maybe not at start but at least down the road :-)
