So - do we know if these new daily's provide a variety of crafting materials, or do we have to go back to lower end exploration zones to father the starter materials?
The new Patrol and Frieghter Assualt maps will give you crafting recources in larger amounts, however they will all be given out at "player level" . If you have a higher level KDF character you will have to go back to the Klingon Star Clusters (Exploration Content) to get the lower level recources. There is a KDF Star Cluster for every level band.

Heck, that's the fastest way to level a KDF toon atm...explorations...
So what you mean is that my LTG to get what he might need is to go and get it from Azlesa Expanse, or am I supposed to get something from other areas? Will the crafting require me to go all over creation, or will it allow me to get everything I need from my leveled nebula (Azlesa expanse for example)...?

It means that in order for your LTG toon to gather lower level mats for use in the lower levels (beginning) of crafting, you will need to go back to the lower level star cluster maps to get those mats
EDIT: I can't remember what the KDF equivalent star clusters are, but the analogy is that for a [Large Hypospray] which is a low level item, you need low level mats. The only way to get those mats once you're a high level is to go back to a low level Star Cluster like Delta Volanis.

That will be sooo annoying to people in those areas for higher KDF toons taking over their areas....Yup, I know I'd be ****ed off if I wa dthem...I think I'll use my fed to get me the things I need and that way, I'll not clog up the works...I recommend those KDF toons (well, those captain and above) do the same and mail their KDF toons crafting mats from the fed side....

My question then would be are you turning on the random anomalies in the klingon star clusters like in federation star clusters or are we going to have to beam down to individual planets to go get the lower level crafting materials?
If thats the case then it wont be a big deal, it will be exactly as fusturating as gathering low level crafting material as a fed...except you KDF mains wont have to fly all over the quadrant to get it.
Fed Toons already go into the lower level exploration clusters to gather their lower level crafting materials. There's nothing wrong with it, espiceally since the cluster missions level band to the player characters who initiates the mission.

I don't see why they do anyway because everything I have done for my fed on R&d has been done at the B'Trans area.....figures....

It works exactly the same way gathering low level resources work for Federation Players. KDF just gets the extra patrol stuff as well. All the "extra" resources however in the new patrols will be given out at player level. Since the patrols themselves will scale with player level, the extra resources have to as well.
For new players to the KDF side this works out perfect because no matter when you run the new patrols you'll always get the appropriate recoures. If you have a advanced KDF character, youll have to go do some harvesting, but it's still better than the Fed Side since all your harvesting areas are just a short distance from your main Hub...

Are we going to have the same craftable stuff on the KDF side we will have on the fed side? Same list for memory alpha and Qo'Nos?? Much thanks for the feedback.

If all goes according to plan, Klingons have a slightly different crafting tree. It's likely that Klingons will upgrade disruptor cannons instead of phaser arrays, for instance. Keep an eye out . . .

obviously then, for established Klingon players who are already at maximum level they won't be able to acquire the lower level resources / data needed to unlock the lower tiers of the crafting tree

Awesomesauce. I look forward to seeing the KDF "tech tree".

I assume that those of us who got crafting materials way back when a bug allowed us to do so, will be able to keep these materials?

Personally, I have hoarded a few 100s of each of them to wait for demand to sky rocket - muahahaha.
