It's not so much conflict, but rather that feedback needs to be constructive. That means that there needs to be both positive and negative aspects to it. By effectively elliminating the negative aspects of it any feedback given is more or less useless.

I'm not certain that your post was ignored. I think it was more like; "Hmm. Well, he didn't ask a question so I guess there's no reason to respond."

This. It sounds like the OP wanted us to post story ideas. But do I need some random stranger to read my story and post pointers on how it could be better?

well lets go from here then. But it works both ways if this thread is to work and be civil it needs to happen now from both sides revlot.

I didn't ignore this post, for some reason i have only just seen it? But regardless this is a thread where you have suggested people put in ideas. For me that means i look at this thread go away and come back another time with some constructive ideas that i would hope to get peoples feedback on. But because ideas do take some time to formulate then it's bound to be a slower thread than the others. In the end if people reply slowly because they have spent time having a good old think, then thats a good sign as the ideas will probably be better structured and easier to give feedback on. rather than just posting the first mess that comes into mind(if you take my meaning).

I say patience, lets see where it goes from here?

It's not negative feedback if it is contructive. To say "that idea sucks" is just negative and of no use to anyone. But if it's "That currently has no apeal to me, i dont like the idea of vulcans being so violent in your missions" then it's constructive and thuse USEFUL.

We cant post and hope people rub our egos and tell us we are great, but we can ask that if there is something you dont like. You take the time to explain why it doesn't work/puts you off playing it etc. Thats helpful feedback even if it isn't always what we want to hear. We cant ask for more than that..honesty but with a little care on how it's phrased. Personally if people tell me they dont like my idea and explain why, i will be greatful to them for taking time out to even bother repsonding to my mission. But as i said saying "thats TRIBBLE" for em would be dissapointing.

The thing is, so far I haven't seen anyone 'rip on' him as he puts it, and then he proceeded to indirectly say that anyone who disagrees are children. Should take a little of his own 'be constructive advice.' The only idea I've seen him post people have pointed out you can do in some form already, including myself.

He just seems to take things a little too personally. Not everyone will agree with you at all times, just take it in stride and try again, or explain what you mean a little better.

    That was constructive, yes?

hey look thats all i was trying to say. thats why i said "both sides" as i was trying not to fasll into the troll label myself. But i think i am about to fail :(

Regardless I agree and thats what i was trying to say..yes we want contructive criticism and as you pointed out that means not overeacting to post wayy ahead of time. So yes i agree with you that i feel he did over react a little. But i have also seen him on qanother thread have a bit of a rough time of it. I am trying to find the sweet spot here lol but it's not working out.

Yes you are being contructive, and that was my point..if there is any last bloody chance opf this thread working now it's simple. on the one side stay constructive. On the otherside dont overeact to the very thing you asked for "critique".

    I im trying i really am! :P

That was basically what I was trying to say. Thank you for putting it in a more eloquent wording.
