I saw some images on the non Klingon ships, the orion, nausican and gorn, and the vorcha refit, but what happeded to the D7 refit? Also what are the tiers and class of these ships, BO layouts, weapon layouts, etc.
I just dont get what takes so long to model a ship from a group of professionals, and get it in game. The Vorcha refit and a D7 refit should be super easy, the skins and models exist already, change the stats of the ship and the weapon/ bo slots, tweak some texture files, and bam, here you go. A D7 refit would be awesome for tier 5, great great ship.
I can see the new designs taking longer but really, the feds have gotten so many new ships and the kdf nothing but that hideous looking carrier, I just dont understand.
You're not alone with this.
The ships were pushed from "around the end of August if not sooner" back six weeks and now "sometime during the Devidian Series".
But no specs, nothing.
I'm still waiting on the final ship specs but here's what I can share so far...
(from the ship designer)
* Gorn Ship is a Science Vessel. Similar to the Federation Deep Space Science Vessel.
* Orion Ship is a Cruiser, similar to the Federation Star Cruiser.
* Nausican ship is a little special. I call it a siege Raider. Its similar to the Federation Feet Escort.
* Tier 5 B'Rel is a Tier 5 Retrofit B'Rel Raider.
* Tier 5 Vorcha Retrofit is similar to the Federation Assault Cruiser.
With the exception of the T5 Vorcha Retrofit, they will all have a special ability.

The time it takes to design the new ships would be fairly short, depending on what other projects they are working on. But what eats up most of the time is the codeing of the ship, as well as dealing with any glitches that pop up once it is all put together.
I don't get why people get thinking that it is so easy to buld this stuff, like all the Devs have to do is push a couple of buttons and bam they are done.

This however falls dead on its TRIBBLE when the vor'cha is already in game with the glitches ironed out and the modelling done.
Except that like the intrepid, galaxy and defiant before it, the Vorcha is getting a model make over for its refit, though yea without a special ability the coding should be easy enough.
They released the Nebula specs about a month before they promised the feds it would be out (and why should they not keep their promises to the feds ?). I doubt that they would be getting ours done that quickly..Lord knows that they'd probably want to redo some graphics on fed ships or some crud for season 3 while we still get pushed to the back of the bus. I am tired of waiting for something which I have the feeling won't be as good as it was billed. I will be more than surprised if the new ships live up to their promise. I mean look at the Kar' Fi...they said oh no...it might look bad but is cool, and a good thing to fly...but it sure didn't and hasn't lived up to its promise to me...lol..(I bothered testing it out before and after 2.0 came out).
Well THB we've been waiting quite a while for these and I'm sure myself and others would like a specific date for at least 1 of these new ships. It's looking like the same old game as far as anything for us Klingon's is concerned. Fed's are getting their Nebula, they are getting model rework on the Akira and we still don't have even 1 of the new ships promised. I'm very patient but my patience is wearing thin. Please give us our ships and hold off on wing animations, model reworks and new fed ships for ONCE.

It was Dstahl who posted a while ago that 2 of the 3 Fed refits ships introduced with Season 2 were practically done over night. Right there is your answer.
However, wether this statement was true or not, they could have finished at least some of the promised Klingon ships by now if they really wanted to. Dstahl has made several promises on when they would introduce new Klingon ships. First it was late August, then it became somewhere around October 10. Assuming that Dstahl is somewhat capable of his job you'd think that he did not just grab these dated out of mid air, which raises the question why we still don't have our promised ships. The answer is simple. The give a rats TRIBBLE about Klingons, no matter how hard they try to convince us otherwise in their statements.

Well, I for one can see your point of view. At times, I feel the same way. I also saw that SShade in another forum post (look it up in dev tracker...posted yesterday). That they were working on SO much stuff for KDF such as wing animations, etc, etc, and new ships had to be started from scratch and whatnot....yeah, I really think that had they actually bothered to start work on the KDF ships when they were supposed to, we would not be getting dates that keep getting pushed back farther and farther. Set a date to it, and either deliver it for holodeck or for testing...that way we at least see that they have been doing something with our subscription money...As I see it right now, they are collecting a check for development but have not produced results. I thought they would be spending this time to get ready for season 3, and adding KDF ships, not introducing 2 new fed ships and reskinning another...
From what we have been told on the forums, there are 2 guys working on starships. It takes both of them to do one ship...apparently. As this is the case, and they want to do nothing but please their main fan-base at the expense of agitating already angry KDF players, they finish the Nebula and Akira, and then MIGHT turn to finish the KDF ships. Stop me if I am wrong but that is what it feels like to me. I think I would actually die of sheer surprise if they actually got off their hind ends and got us the KDF ships before Christmas...Although it does not look that way.
Either give us a firm date when to expect the ships and stick to it, or don't bother adding them in the first place. That's my idea. If they do get them done early, and done correctly, I'll give them each a cookie
