Orion Vessels

I saw some screenies somewhere of what the new Orion ship is going to look like. I was disappointed. Unless I was reading the labels wrong, which may have been the case.

I was hoping for something sleek and shiny but what I saw was fat and blobby. What happened to the blockade runner concept?

If I am mistaken I would be delighted to be told otherwise. We need new warships to free our brothers from the yoke of Klingon dominion!

    Due to Cryptic only being able to give us 1 hour a week of actual dev time, We get the Orion Barge, maybe in a year will see the Orion Raiders and Runners but only if they start workin on them now.

    I dont really understand why they cannot just use the corvette model they already have. It seems like a nice ship to fly. Combining a fast escort type role with a fighter bay. That is somethin I would be interested in.

    I agree use the one in the game right now. They do not need to be approved twice. Seems a waste. The new look nice but it seem like great waste of good work already done. You can put out 5 Orion ships in one patch easy.

    From the post elsewhere in this thread it seems we are getting an assault cruiser. What is Orion about that? The last thing PvP needs is another indestructable PvP boat that cannot kill anything.

    Yeah its ugly as sin, but at least its not a science ship. With how Cryptic thinks the Nebula should work, I'm scared of what the Gorn ship is going to be like.

    While it's not a very sexy ship , I'd still fly it. i just hope it turns faster than it looks

    The models for NPC ships lack the degree of detail player ships have.

    That said, the K'Tinga at least doesn't seem to have much higher quality. :(

    Actually, if done right, an Orion cruiser might be quite awesome.

    Remember the Orion NPC cruisers in the game? The ones that harassed you with a duo/trio of fighters? It'd be pretty cool if the player ship would have this as a special ability. Hybrid cruiser/minicarrier, so to say.

    As long as I don't have to tractor that new ship to get you near the Federation, I don't think it can handle any more stress :)

    Well, the orion ship is an engineering ship or so I was told. What it's specs are or if you can even get close to the feds to use it are a completely different story.
