Wanting to get on the Weekly Series "Special Reward" bandwagon with all my characters I decided to try the KDF. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've wanted to try the "dark side" ... but as I really have been enjoying my Fed experience, the KDF was always an "eventually" thing. The Weekly Series really was a capper. Not only for the reward, but the idea of taking the Serial Missions from another point of view... With a different (if only slightly) point of view.

And I was gleefully rewarded. The Klingon "flavor" was a very cool touch to the Breen/Deferi missions. There was far less mention of Balance (thank the Maker!) and more about Honor and Debt. Which, when mixed with the Balance, made the whole less annoying. And, if possible, the Breen were even more course and sarcastic against the Klings than the Feds. Fantastic!

Alas, it's all the more unfortunate for some Deferi Slaves... I hate to admit... It's just that when the Breen Slaver starts poking fun at my Honor, I can't seem to try and negotiate the release of said Slaves and tend to follow my Tac BO's suggestion and Blow the Breen ship to so much star dust... I've yet to "successfully" complete that mission. ...

:D

I have also completed the Bringing Down the House Mission. That was VERY cool. Meeting Worf?!? Talk about Nerdgasm!!!. And I really felt as though I was fighting for the very Honor of another valiant warrior. Sweet mission.

That was fighting Roms and other Klings... After months as a Fedbear, that was normal. It's very strange in the Kahless Expanse blowing up Fed ships... Especially when I face a Constitution class... Seems so odd to lay waste to the "Enterprise", but somehow I'm adapting. LOL

Playing KDF is definitely a shift in perspective. And a change location. I'm still getting used to finding my way around Qo'noS. But man on man, flying a BoP is awesome! That's a great ship!

Anywho, I've rolled up three characters, one of each profession, and it's been fun playing them:

Lt. Commander 3 Tu'rook
Liberated Borg Klingon, Engineer

I.K.S. T'NAS
Tu'rook is dealing with what he feels as shame over his assimilation (even if it did happen while he was a child). But since liberation, he's retained an affinity for machines and feels his best path to redemption is to maintain and repair the tools and weapons that will bring glory to the Empire.

Lt. Commander 2 Koro
Lethean Tactical Officer

I.K.S. THOLOS
A powerful psi and malicious TRIBBLE, Koro uses his gifts to drive his foes to their doom. KDF High Command is happy to have him on the front lines, as long as he's pointed at the enemy, and hopes he stays there...

Lieutenant Esu d'Nomae
Orshan (Alien) Science Officer

I.K.S. GOREMORE
Little is known about this wanderer. He joined the KDF under an Auxiliary Mercenary flag and has been mostly keeping under the radar... He true purpose is yet to be discovered...

You know I've not met a single one of us KDFers who hasn't love the little PvE we've been given. When they do give us PvE it is amazing quality, there is no doubt about that. It just sadly doesn't fill the content gaps.

My favorite of the three PvE episodes we have is Bringing down the House, it would be nice to see missions like this - about Klingon internal politics at other levels too, like Cmdr, Capt. and General.

Weird as it may sound, the lack of storyline PvE actually caused me to develop an appreciation for the "peripheral" stuff in this game - not just PvP, but also Fleet Actions and Warzones (exploration, not so much...). And, yeah, the stories we do get are unrivalled by almost anything I've done Fed-side.

Welcome to the Empire. Fight with honor!

    Thanks for the welcome, Brothers!

Standing by the Gates of Gre`Thor, eh? Sounds epic. I'll look forward to it!

I remember reading a thread about the "KDFassistance" channel. I book marked it with intent to add it to my Klings... Thanks for the reminder. Will do.

But hey, I do have a couple questions. As a Fed, there are all sorts of vendors where I can sell my rubbish drops for half the listed "value" in EC. You know, items not worth anything on the Exchange? So far, in Qo'noS, I've only found one NPC Vendor in the Shipyard who'll buy my brika-brak. Everyone else only deals in Badges. Is there another vendor closer to the Services (Exchange/Mail/Bank) area?

I know about the Deferi Outpost 3 store too, but that's so far away, and currently bugged. And there are no Services in that region.

Speaking of far... Right now, to get from Qo'noS to Deferi, I have to fly via Lt. Sector Speed Warp (~7 something) to the Eta Eridani wall, make the jump to Archanis, I then re-instance in EE which puts me one sector over in Donatu, then slow Warp over to the Orellius wall, jump, then fly to Deferi. It takes "forever" Are there any shortcuts?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or anything... I'm just used to my VA1 Sector Warp Speed (9.97), Excel/Ambassador TWs, and Slipstream... I can get "anywhere" near instantly with my FedBear. :D

Feds have ESD, DS9, K7, SB39... Are there any other Hubs for the Klings besides Qu'noS? Also, is the Klingon version of the Captain's Table in the Aenigma Nebula as boring/lame/pointless as the Fed version (I haven't bothered to waste my own time to check ;) )?

There's a vendor in the hall where the purple emblem stuff is sold. he's in the far right corner when you enter that room.

The equivalent to the Fed Hubs such as DS9 id Ganalda Station which is in the Eta Eridani Sector Block

Ganalda Station in the Neutral Zone. It can also be frequented by Starfleet personnel, though. Be prepared for lots of drama if you visit.

Actually, I thought they are the same?

Granalda is KDF only and in Klingon space.
Drozana station is the one in neutral space that both factions can visit.

You're thinking of Drozana Station, maybe? Gonalda is KDF only, as far as I know.

And Patrician, unfortunately there's no shortcut to Deferi space that I know of.
