As Klingon we are unable to use alot of tribble powers. I think a good answer to this would be for DEVS to add slot to TARG pet. You would be able to drop tribble in slot. When you bring TARG out it would play with TRIBBLE and by you petting The TARG thus giving you the Tribble Buff. COMMENTS

Nice idea, I am all for it but Cryptic won't do this because they will say it is unfair to the Feds! The KDF is dying slowly & Cryptic does not care!

My Idea: A combination with Tribbles and Targs

    How it works:
    1. Klingon picks up Tribble as loot or buys on the exchange.
    2. Klingon flies home to Qo'nos and buys reasonably priced generic Targ from so-and-so the Targ Handler.
    3. KLINGON FEEDS THE FUZZY VERMIN TO TARG!!!
    4. Targ gains the same properties and buffs as it's dinner.

That would be an excellent use for such an annyoing and voracious critter. Oh, and if some people think this is abomitable, then why feed crickets to skinks/salamanders/ lizards? Besides, I love to eat beef!

I think this is actually a really good idea. The Klingons are all about "live food". They'd certainly not be oppposed to throwing a few tribbles into their targ's bed in the ready room.

It would be a really great way to get rid of my tribbles too. I hate just dropping them from my inventory. I feel like I'm abandoning a cat or something. But feeding that little furball to my Klingon alt toon... I could get into that...... i scare myself sometimes..:(

Great Idea ! We just need some way of getting buff from them or just get the food eating cridders out of our inventories completely.

Now that is a GREAT idea!!

I'd love to hear it squeal in pain as the targ makes chomping/grunting noises while it rips it apart and eats the blasted thing! :p

It is unfortunate, because I really like the idea of feeding my Targ tribbles...

But this is highly likely to NOT be implemented for potentially legal reasons -- PETA would be all over this in a heartbeat, and could actually cause grief by saying this is simulated cruelty to animals. PETA would start frivolous lawsuit after lawsuit just to punish Cryptic for being so "insensitive" and...well..that could cause lots of headaches and money, which is something Cryptic does not need right now.

I know it sounds silly...but we are dealing with some pretty fanatical, silly people in this organization. Here in San Antonio, we see them all the time around Rodeo season. They do things like send naked girls to take public showers in protest at the Alamo, or stand along the roadside naked behind a banner. Makes for interesting...umm...views...because some of those gals are somewhat attractive...but it is publically distracting all the same, and that is only the public face of it. Behind the scenes, lawyers are rubbing thier hands in anticipatory glee....

That idea has my blood pressure going into a nuclear melt down state..

Stupid petaQs!, the thought of a lawsuit over one fictitious creature eating another fictitious creature, the news networks can show dead bodies and blood all over a crime scene that's ok to them... yet heavens forbid an obnoxious ball of pixilated pocket lint disappears. It's just ridiculous, they need to eat a double cheeseburger and get over themselves.

By Imperial Decree effective immediately all lawyers and PETA members are under arrest and are sentenced to Rura Penthe for the rest of their lives. Grrrrrr

As a counter point to the ficticous animal being eaten and a possible lawsuit from PETA, one must consider that animated kiddy TRIBBLE is protected by law as freedom of expression on the condition that no child was actually exploited in its making. I disagree with this US Surpreme court ruling.

As long as no actual animals are injured in the making of such a feature, there is not a darn thing PETA can do in a court of law against Cryptic. The legal reason being taken from that previous llaw ruling, and the fact that many movies and games have been made with depicted violence towards animals, yet no animals have been actually hurt. These movies also have a disclaimer informing the audience as such.

This reminds me of something I though about once.

Instead of having tribbles for both the Feds and the KDF, why not have various breeds of Targs instead that would perform the same thing. I know this would interfer with the Targ pet many people already have, but maybe it could be given the same Buffs as the Golden Tribble to balance things out. The targs could be exclusive to the KDF and tribbles could remain witht the Feds.

I don't know if this ties in or not, but here's my two cents worth.

Sure they can... They may not win, but they can still sue. Sadly the US legal system doesn't really stop anyone from filing a lawsuit no mater how silly or frivolous it may be. Those suits have to be defended again.

Although a disclaimer might help... Maybe a "no animals were hurt" type thing would stop PETA from doing anything.

    I really like this idea.
I have always wished Targs were useful in some tiny way.
I've suggested similiar in other threads.
Irks me especially since I got the BestBuy pre-order to get the Targ, wrongly assuming it would funtion just like a tribble.
And I can't even kick the stupid thing from the frustration over it's uselessness...

How about, instead of what the OP suggests, we get new Targ items from Cryptic (in the same fashion as Tribbles) which we can breed, and then as well as being able to give consumable items to our Targs, we can also give Tribbles to our Targs. Then our Targs EAT the Tribbles (Mwah ha ha) and we get different Targ breeds depending on which Tribble we gave them to eat.

    /Edit

Damn, I guess someone already had this idea, anyway, I love it!

We need similar buffs that the Federation gets with their nasty Tribbles. I like the idea of a Targ breeding program. I think Cryptic should consider doing it. It seems like a fair thing to do...assuming they care enough about the KDF to do it.
