    Greetings,

The Federation, Romulan Star Empire and Klingon Empires do not have currency based systems. The idea of engaging in miltary action for money is offensive to all three. The Federation founding races abandoned the idea of currency centuries ago, they realized the deleterious effects that money had on a societies development and simply did away with it, freer to pursue personal and societal development.
The Klingons would find nothing more offensive than the idea of fighting for money, suggesting this to a Klingon is the easiest way to find a d'k'tang in your chest. The code of Klingon honor would not stand such an outlandish concept.
The Romulan people follow the way of D'era and Mnhei'sahe, their interest is to unite the galaxy in Peace, few things are more irrelevant to this end than monetary systems, in fact the only time this becomes relevant is in the negative as in getting rid of monetary based value systems in planets that petition to join the Star Empire.

The Big Three as they are called all run non-monetary socialized systems of government, yes even, and in fact especially, the Klingons.

While this might be a leap for an audience that is still part of a society that is enthralled by currency, the canon is there, the question is simply, how true to the universe are we going to be.

This does not negate a faction or factions outside of these Three from having some sort of currency based system. Backwards societies like the Ferengi still feel a need to value matter over ideas and glory.

    Enjoy the show.

Luckily this is a game and people are free to make their own choices about how they want to appear.

I too would like to see the Merc outfits for the KDF. It might look good on a Gorn if it would fit.

Orion Syndicate to be canon are mercenaries or for the lack of the word guns for hire. As such they are also pirates. And they are members of the Klingon Empire according to Star Trek Online. So I think the KDF faction should have the mercenary outfits as well since the Federation have the mercenary outfits for their off duty outfits. :D

That's what I am saying!!! I want my Orion Alt and his crew of non-Klingons (supporting the Empire for money and Glory) to have something that says "Yeah we work for you, but I want my crew of scum to look different"

    So....Can I buy the outfit PLEASE:D

LOL- I still find it funny that the feds even got mercenary outfits considering the number of "anti-pew pew" threads that popped up during beta and early release that claimed that the fed were not as violent as portrayed and not mercenary in design.
Much like kids in a candy store they want everything thier grubby hands can grasp, it seems.

Nothing would be more glorious than run through a traitorous mercenary. A mercenary has no since of duty to the Empire, a House or thier brethren...they are everything the Empire and the Klingon society strives not to be.

May dogs feed upon their rotting bodies...their souls not even fit for Gre'thor.

Haven't you noticed when Feds get something new - its Fed only.

When Klingons get something new - Feds already have it or get it as well.

Personally, I would just like to see a few more costume pieces... period. Some of the Breen items would be awesome. (Like the Breen suit or helmet) But I would also like to see things like Eye patches, gas masks, face masks, or helmets. We already see NPCs with eye patches and masks and such... so ideally it shouldnt be that hard to add; I wouldnt think so anyway. /shrug
The Klink side is a warrior-based society... not just Klinks but all races invloved, so some more items like the Merc items would be an awesome addition to Klinks. Lord knows we need to have a little customization somewhere!

The Big Three as they are called all run non-monetary socialized systems of government, yes even, and in fact especially, the Klingons.
    1) That doesn't preclude any particular human, Romulan, or Klingon from engaging in combat for latinum, or having a history of doing so.
    2) The "mercenary" outfits can also easily double as "field" or "spec ops" outfits.
While this might be a leap for an audience that is still part of a society that is enthralled by currency, the canon is there, the question is simply, how true to the universe are we going to be.
Don't enslave yourself or others to a narrow view of canon...

with the season 2 patch the klingon side has more costume pieces.
but the disappointing part of that is that each (new) piece is species specific.
Such as the Nausicaans having the gasmasks you were talking about but none of the other species on the klingon side can equip it, not even the Aliens!

I firmly believe that the alien custom species should have access to all the costume pieces that are available on that faction's side.

I ask for the Merc costumes for the klingon side as the klingons are more likely to ave mercs running around than the feds. plus we see Merc costume pieces on the klingons walking around Qo'nos

Heh, I said narrow view of canon - as in "I reject mercenary outfits on the grounds that there couldn't possibly be mercenaries in effectively moneyless societies, so no one should wear an outfit that has the word 'mercenary' in the name."

There are things other than money people kill for, besides what the hell are credits if not another form of money (Of which the Feds do use)?
