As you can see, I'm a lifer. Though I've been away for a good 5-6 months this time around. I figured I'd compile my initial thoughts and reactions upon return from my long away, and ramble a bit on my recent experiences as a lt commander KDF captain.
I appreciate the efforts to add some pve content to the klingon side of things, though I was struck by something I'm surprised still lingers.
When I fly around in my fed in the various nebula type missions, we know signal contacts come in 2 types (well...3), the first being 'something to scan' (nice change to the scan function btw, a little minigame that can give me an extra boost of scan-lewt if I want to try it), the 2nd being an instance-system. The third is that thing you scan that says its a sensor contact but doesn't actually do anything. Anyhooo, on the KDF side of things, we come to my point. Since KDF doesn't do memory-alpha type scan-lewt, often those sensor contacts are 'nothing of interest' or 'sorry, no feds here, scan another location'. My concern is, after all this time, is it really that necessary to slow Klingons down by throwing time-wasting locations to scan?
I get that they're 'empty' because we don't get memory alpha stuff, but would it be that hard to make it, i dunno, at least not quite as worthless? maybe a bridge officer point or something?
Next up. Difficulty slider. I appreciate the concept. Tailor your own experience with risk and reward. Though on my lt commander I've spent the past day (I'd say roughly 12-15 hours of actual game time) with my difficulty cranked to elite, with no noticeable benefit. Sure I've got a bunch of wounds to show for it, but on the nebula missions i've gotten white common ship items plus the usual battery garbage and oooh seismic sensors or whatever. On the ground, the usual stews and teas and medkits and well....junk. Is this because at lt commander grade the stuff just isnt that good anyway and I shouldn't bother cranking the difficulty, or is this a bug with drop rates. Or am I just rolling horribly badly? On the other hand, it does sorta feel like my feddy admiral has gotten some decent drops while running at advanced. I haven't been able to survive elite rating on my admiral just yet, so I haven't really seen any drops. I suspect that its because at admiral level, just like me the npcs have loads of crazy skills to use, plus their boosted stats. At lt commander, we all sorta suck, so the difference isn't too much.
PvP. wow. still hurting huh? this time tho, I'm seeing a wasteland at lower levels too rather than upper levels from the fed side of things. Maybe setup something like botmatches from Battlefield 2? But then its not really pvp anymore.
Fleet actions. Hm still my lone BoP vs an entire federation minefield and armada huh?
and dont forget our new Klingon only c store purchase. A pet Targ. That doesn't even attack anything. It just follows you around & shows what a tool you are for having bought it.
Not really, other then the Forum War. Many have been fighting to fix and improve the KDF but not much in the way real fixes or actions have been done. A lot of PR Hype and Spin but on the KDF side all we really get is smoke and mirrors.

Maybe we should try a carrot and stick reward approach to the ones in charge.
I don't think they would enjoy where I would feed it to them. Besides that has been tried before and all that came of it was ..... well what we have today.

Well, in that case, you ought to look at the forum for Klingon veteran rewards...Stahl has stated that nothing was planned, nothing as of him lookng into it, had been planned, and he would "keep looking into it" so to speak...Yeah...get on there and raise some ruckus...
