This Idea probably been thrown around a lot, but I'll toss my ideas in just for the heck of it.

The items would be the same as Memory-alpha, maybe with bat'leths. As for the crafting mats they would be gathered via the scanning mini game, but from wrecked ships that we salvage.

The scanning mini game is not available to us; we don't even have scanning available to us.

The Pakled's have working scanners, nuff said.

    I like the idea.
Hopefully our Federation betters will allow us the priviledge.:p

The hell with scanning. We should have something that we can collect...bits of ore or something from explores (you know, the go here and scan this on the planet TRIBBLE) to go to a specialized Klingon weaps facility to get better weaps faster like the feds do. Klingons do not go on extended scientific missions. There is a scientific community, but to say that every warrior now has some sort of scientific mandate to get better weapons is BLEH....
When the Klinks in ST3: SFS went looking for a new weapon, they stole the genesis information...Regardless of how it turned out, they did not go around scanning looking for TRIBBLE to make a new weapon, they took what they wanted.

That is how I think that it SHOULD be done.

Wiether its scanning, loot drops or we steal the tech - I merely like the idea of Klingons having crafting.

We do have working scanners - there's just nothing to scan.

For a while, there was this "bug" with exploration missions. If the mission objective was to defeat X groups of Federation ships, there would be resource nodes in the system. You could scan for those nodes normally and even collect data. Looks like they stealth-"fixed" that "bug" recently, though :(

I like the idea of scanning the wreckage of defeated enemies - but we need a crafting system to go with it.

Klingons are STO orphans we get what they throw to us...no things to scan( even to find out where the enemies are), no weapon crafting(even though Kahless forged his own bath'leth), not even a full uncommon (green) klingon weapon complimentary at weapon dealers( no beam arrays or banks or turrets), no nothing....we'r just here to please the fed faction on PvP's...that's all folks...take it or leave it...

remember that time little orphan annie grew up to be darth vader?
and all it took was a couple of space hippies to bring that empire down.

i enjoy playing the 'bad guy' faction in STO.
i'll take your pvp. that's the best part of STO :)

We were told by the DEV's that you can't scan destructible objects, and as far as I know you still can't but I haven't done the PVE in a while.

No that's still true, and still dumb... Too bad the base class for in-game objects doesn't have a "scannable" flag.
