Give Federation Klingons options for sashes, etc. They are still Klingons, regardless of their factional affiliation, let them show some elements of their heritage. While "at it" please add more hairstyles for *all* Klingons, regardless of faction.
The sashes, aka baldric, are a sign of status in the Klingon Empire. There is no reason that a Klingon who has turned her back on her people should be allowed to wear one.
Watch the TNG episode "Sins of the Father" and see Worf get his sash stripped from him because he was branded a traitor.
If there wasn't a war on, then sure they would be a nice option for Fed Klingons, but under the circumstances, they are all traitors to their people and if their culture means anything to them, then they would not wear it. And if it means nothing to them, then there is still no reason to wear it.
Agreed. I vote *YES* on Federation Klingons having sash options on their outfits. By the way, Worf wore his on DS9 during the Klingon-Federation war even after Gowron stripped his family of their seat on the High Council, took away his family's honor, and seized their lands and so forth [Way of the Warrior].
So there is a double-precedent for Klingons wearing their sashes even under these circumstances. Therefore they should be added to the game for Fed Klingons.

I remember correctly that he was branded a traitor because of the actions of his father causing 3 generations to be branded. It is not the actions of Worf, but his father (allegedly...until we find out that is is Duras' family).
Ergo, your arguement is not soundly based. we should have the ability to do something or wear something to identify our culture....Even if those sashes are not the same as Klingon sashes. Just as Bajorans wear their little earring, we should be able to express our culture...
I want to be treated as a 1st class citizen instead of someone's dog...lol (well according to Q...Worf was Picard's dog...lol).
I too, agree. Let Federation Klingons have the sashes. It's their culture regardless. They deserve to have this if they want it and it's clearly been established as canon.
What sucks is ... if they did do this and let Fed Klingons have sashes ... they'd fit much better on Fed side than KDF side because the fed uniforms would have less clipping problems with the sashes than the KDF armor does.
Worf's situation was unique, but its probably the only time we saw a sash stripped, and under the circumstances it makes perfect sense to apply it to Federation Klingons in game. They are traitors to the Empire so they would have no status in the Empire.
Worf continued to wear his baldric, yes, but the reason was never really explained, and probably could be considered a flub by the writers. However, I would easily believe it has a lot to do with the fact that he and Starfleet knew the truth, that he was not a traitor, Mogh was not a traitor, so there wasn't an issue wearing it with Starfleet where it would have mattered most.
But the sash/baldric is not a cultural symbol either. There are many instances of Klingons who did not wear them. The reason is simple, the sash has tangible meaning to it, it isn't a piece of jewelery that symbolized beliefs like the Bajoran earring, it is a symbol of rank and status in the Empire. They aren't just given out to any Joe Klingon.
In game, the sash is explicitly a function of rank. It would make no sense to give a KDF joined Trill access to Federation Pips and combadges to stick onto a KDF uniform because they aren't part of Starfleet.
It also doesn't make a lot of sense for a Starfleet Klingon to display a baldric when they are at war with the Klingon Empire. Where are their loyalties?

I agree with that basic statement, regardless of what it symbolizes militarily or culturally the Klingons who stayed on the Feddie side would to me be traitors not only to the Empire but to the Klingon people themselves.
It's one thing for the Federation to have abandoned the Empire when they went to fight the Undine influnce on the Gorn, but for any true Klingon to have turned their backs that way is undeserving of any such relics of their heritage. Even Worf left the Federation for their contemptable attitude and he was their biggest supporter for ages.
So I have to say I don't support Feddie Klingons having baldrics.
I wonder why Worf was allowed to wear that sash. It´s against the dress code. Ro Laren had to get rid of her earring. And the young bajoran on voyager too, as far as i remember.
Well how about we turn this around for a sec....let's say the Klingons could have Human BOs or even have as a playable race. Should they get Starfleet rank pips? I'm not sure I agree with Federation Klingons getting access to one thing that keeps the KDF unique.
The Klingon sash is not used correctly in STO, right now they are used as a symbol of rank and not for a House. (Info) It would be nice if we didn't have a rank sash but a sash of our choosing that could be colored and modded with a customizable pin to signify our house (AKA Fleet).
Now giving my opinion as a fan of STO and not just a Klingon...I think it's completely acceptable for Federation Klingons to get a different type of sash that does not change with rank but is just for cosmetics.

But they are given out to Joe Gorn and Joe Nausicaan and JoJo Orion (who's wearing pretty much ONLY that and some dental floss) and Joseph Lethean and MoJoJo the Midget Alien and Joanna Joined Trill.
So right now the "impact" of the sash seems rather diluted considering the state of the KDF itself is so diluted.

As an archaelogist, Picard was far more relaxed about things like that. He even let Troi wear non-uniforms on duty for years.
And on that ship, I think only Data, Picard or Guinan had the courage to tell Worf to take it off.

No, that's not how it works. You have to EARN the sash on the KDF side. If you have one, you're a ranking officer in the KDF, and the higher you are, the better your sash gets. If not, you're a nobody.
Most of the NPCs on Qo'nos don't have the baldric.
You want the baldric, then give the KDF pips and combadges. Or just make a KDF character.
The Klingon Defense Force actually does have their very own set of canon rank insignia, and yet Cryptic has chosen to ignore them and degrade the sashes to be used as ranks instead.
Canonly however, the baldrics have nothing to do with Military rank, but everything to do with social rank and status.
So you see, it would definitly be rasonable to have Baldrics available for a federation Klingon, but not for Starfleet "Military Rank" insignias to be available for the KDF.
Yes the baldrics are incorrectly used as KDF rank. But that's what they are in game, and giving Federation Klingons KDF rank is nonsense.
In canon it doesn't make sense for a traitor Klingon to have any status in the Empire, so a Federation Klingon wearing a Baldric would just be like calling yourself the Prince of Wales, while not being the Prince of Wales. Sure you could do that, but why would you? And why would Starfleet condone it? Its not a cultural symbol, its the same as lying through your teeth under the circumstances, and doesn't have a place on a Starfleet officer.
Yes it is weird to have klinbgon officers in star fleet, because federation and the klingon empire are at war or in a kind of war situation. but in anotherway it is nice to have some kljngons arround youm when you play your fed cahr. :-)

By being conquered? Or being hired mercenaries working for a criminal organization that was conquered?
The moment they release Nausicaan, Orion and Gorn ships ... the baldric gets even more watered down.
Then again, most folks on KDF side are aliens ... not even klingons.
/sigh
I'm just not feeling it. The Baldric doesn't have much impact to me.
You forgot Beverly, she could be really mean. I think it´s a requirement for Starfleet doctors.
