So, haven't played in a long time. Pulled my BG5 science Klingon in.
Sunday afternoon primetime ; 2 Klingons in the pvp queue that 'says' it's BG1-MG5. No luck there.
Drive to Azleaza, thinking maybe some quick combat will be just the thing. Lets hear those disrupters fire. It appears whatever Klingon play, play here. Everyone is wardrive to get nodes that ...strangely don't seem to be anything the emire is looking for.
Over.
and over.
and over.
and over.
and over.
Hmmm. No luck trying to get some instant fun then I guess.
Try and shift exploration zones like feds can .... NoPossibleMap (I guess Klingons just get one, and we should be thankful).
Ask a question or two in the Klingon homeworld zone ... .... ""all channels report static"...
Did they close the Klingon side and forget to post something? I imagine when I check back in 60 more days, the Klingon zones will be reduced to one, and we will be a true monster class and create character at max rank, so we can throw blood on the federation players to deafening applause.
This game should be FREE TO PLAY. It's not worth 'pay to play'.
Cryptic made a very good point in driving Klingons away when Season 2 again wasn't the large Klingon patch we expeted. Feds again got more out of it + more ships and so on while we got 8 missions and a single useless carrier. After 45 patch the next debacle and broken promises.
yep have to say there seems to be less & less kling players , you got the needy i want everything NOW players from the fed side ..
Im blaming them tbh its not there fault ITS CRYPTICS FAULT just like the parents of a spoilt child thats had everything bought when they demand it.
Yep it´s sad.....
I see me playing my fed toon more often than my kling main.
It started to get freakin uninteresting. Now I do the mindless B´Tran grind x 2 and I log off.
Have just seen at the LOTRO homepage that it will be free to play soon.
But at least this has been a lesson for me. Never ever will I buy a freakin lifetime subscription again.

this was my first so called MMO & tbh i would never ever buy life time sub ever again .

It took me almost no talent to grand any of my characters to VA or LTG...I really hate that they screwed Klingons over yet again with the fetid promise of more ships (that should have already been done).
I want my new toys, new ships with their own powers, my klink pimp coat (dahar master coat), I want some sort of benefit for playing the Klingon side...I want to do Klingon STF's and do something other than mindless PVP (oh wait, that's broken....) or daily Azlesa expanses...If that's all my subscription has paid for, then I will seriously apply to the State Attorney General's office to demand a refund...
Nobody said anything about having to pay to play beta....
Get our Klingon list of demands met and you will never have to hear us again...should you choose not to reply, we shall go over to ESD and mess up your only bathroom...I hear multi-grain bread targ sandwiches and Klingon prune juice can make quite the radioactive mess.......
most mmo's go through a wierd phase after a content patch or level cap increase.
players shuffle around between levelling their alts, working on their mains, so forth.
and there's a lot more to come as we get further along in season 2.
Yeah, the lifetime sub was a mistake, no doubt about it. At least now I think I understand what Alan Greenspan meant when he crafted the 'irrational exuberence' phrase. Your enthusiasm blinds you to facts in plain sight.
Even if Cryptic fixed everything over 3 months, fixed the game stopping bugs (ATI graphics, anyone?), gave Klingons content, and basically made the game fun,,,,then what? Everyone is long gone, and the deficit of trust that exists now would require P.T.Barnum himself to overcome.
Yes, FIX the graphics and content bugs before you add anything special again...I want a game that doesn't frak my cards up.
As it is..I'm going to slowly test STO to see if the new replacements I have will run it, without getting fried...and of course, I'll have to change my settings....
The klingon faction should definitely be free to play. It is not worth one penny of the lifetime I paid for, especially now that the zone is filled with space crickets. I honestly do not understand the business decision to push people away from a game? Perhaps it was to earn the quick buck and move on to Harry Potter online or Atari's other new MMO baby. In the meantime they are establishing a horrible name for themselves in the industry. Does Atari not realize that we know Cryptic? You think for one second I am going to let my children spend a dime on another Cryptic MMO after they way the company has treated STO? Not ever. Not even if they sell to someone. It's been a TRIBBLE of a lifetime, for a lifetime subscriber. /Cheers Cryptic for stealing my money and ruining a game that had more potential than anything out there.
Well, you have to have a federation character to a certain degree in order to play the Klingon side, so therefore they feel justified in charging those who play the Klingon side...I think if I played only the KLingon side, I would go crazy...nothing left to do except dabo and dailies....
Ozzie223 what ati graphics card do you have ? im running the 5870 & have no problems with the
game.
i did have some problems a while back on ground missions id crash but there was a post on the trouble shooting part of the forum that said to disable dynamic lighting (i think).
Never had any problems since then .. & tbh i didnt really notice any change in the way the game looks.

Yes Cryptic/Atari will be known to all as a company that puts out a shoddy product and then leaves you hanging to make the next quick buck. Since my family, extended family, and friends all come to me for IT advice (free repairs) I will make it well known that their products are not worth the packaging.
Have to add Atari is run by some real duds. Their stock is trading for a $ 1.63 now.

It may go even lower now that 2.0 has been out and has met with a resounding gag and cough from the players...
Can't say I blame any Klingon player for wandering off to greener pastures at this point.
Where are greener pastures? BSG kinda scares me being a browser game LOL.
And where cryptic went wrong IMO. Is they implied the Klingons to be the PvP centered faction (and they turned their backs on the PvPers), and well the PvP blows after you do the same maps 20000000000000 times. Then they listened to the "fedons" who wanted new uniforms and stupidly simple PvE content.

There isn't a reason for anyone to comeback - there are plenty more reasons to leave.
Klingons don't count when it comes to Veteran awards.
The so called Klingon 2.0 was another Fed update dressed to look like something beneficial for us.
The Feds are receiving more new ships while we only receive a few.
Open PVP is still a pipe dream
and they just recently fixed the dam pvp ques but Im sure Cryptic will find more ways to keep killing the population here.

Greener pastures is usaully the euphinism for what happened after the dog has died and you don't want to upset the kids.......
I agree with your assesment of Klingons and pvp though. I never understood why the Dev's didn'tfollow the ezample of the EvE model as far as having safe and unsafe zones of space.
Yep, there are many godo reasons to leave, Cryptic made it easy.
I shrugged yesterday evening when I heard some Feddies talk about how we Klingons complain about new content for us . So Cryptic got they wanted, a 2 class player game with first class Feddies and 2nd class Klings. Have to admit that nothing has changed since the changed in head of development. The same Federation centered develpoment as before.
I just came back after leaving during the first month of the game. Actually the only time I have ever stopped playing an MMO BEFORE my free month ran out. I'm having more fun this time around, mainly because I've got 2 friends of mine playing (which in all honesty can turn a ****** game fun).
When I left Cryptic was pushing the idea of the 45-day patch, which was apparently supposed to help really flesh out the Klingon faction (and con people into paying for their 2nd month). I never bought it for a second. Now I haven't been around to see what the 45 day patch actually was, or what promises have been made since. I do see on the forum banner than season 2 looks like it should be a Klingon patch...
It's absolutely pathetic coming back after so long and seeing Klingons in almost the exact same state as they were at release.
Well yeah. The 8 new PvE missions were really good. The last one being the best episode in the whole STO world. Better than any fed episode.
I´m afraid when the rommies come out ( if this game survives that long...) half the fed population will jump romulan and we klings get 3rd class players.
Right now I have null/zero/nada/absolutely no motivation to even touch my klingon toon.

I hope some of the Devs get the hint to us Klingons before the heeled boat sinks entirely, but I realy doubt it.
