Klingon Long Coats

I see alot of Non player Klingons wear Long Coats. Two or three styles of them are going around. We as players should be able to wear them as well. Come On Cryptic!

I would love to have my Klingon Character wearing one.

    I really like them too, i really believed that these would be ours at Lt. General, I figured "hey the Feds got a new jacket at Vice Admiral" But sadly no..not even a new sash for poor Kahlek :(

    Now you know that the unwanted stepchildren of cryptic are not getting anything until the feds have
    played with it so as soon as they have played with it for a few months we will get a crappy copy.


    But really couldnt they have done both when they were doing the feds VA coat?

    Did you mean Battle Cloaks or the Command Cloaks? If so then I totaly agree. This shoudl be a LG reward for reaching End Game. It is bad enough the Feddies get so much more for everything, new ships, new uniform options, way more missions, more drops, and more attention, etc. This one little thign should have been so easy to add.

    Agreed. I always assumed that they'd unlock at the right rank.

    But apparently they don't. I haven't been playing my klingon character enough to reach that level. I'm disappointed.

    Come on Cryptic ... hint - hint - hint.

    The different styles should be unlocked via PvP.

    Cool jacket 1: 5,000 feds killed in PvP

    CJ2: 10,000 Feds killed in PvP

    Long coat that just screams "Imma Bad MF'er": 50,000 Feds killed in PvP

    I tire of "achievements" that can be unlocked during what amounts to a training phase, we need unlockables that means something!

    I thought for sure long coats would be the Vice Admiral reward for the KDF.

    Why stop at the long coats? Why not also add the combat vests we see the swordmasters wearing, and seem to the standard issue around the great hall these days.

    I actually thought I saw something to that effect as well; at the very least, I believe they are working on them, as I remember seeing a screen with them on it.

    YES! That would also be something I'd love to see! Of course, I want to lobby for the sash Worf wears too, for both Fed and KDF Klingons.

    What really gets me all riled up here though, is that Klinks don't even get any new "rank" sashes after BG1, no MG, or LG. :mad:

    And that IMO is just not acceptable, its the very least we should get.

    That's pretty rough. I mean, this was even the first patch where klingon uniform customization was included. So why was this stuff left hanging? You know?

    That's just weird. They had people working on Nausicaan armor and Orion females. Someone forgot to include rank sashes?

    Maybe they'll be in, with long coats, by the time I get out of the captain ranks ... killing cardassians 14 at a time, lol.

    Yeah it was a real let-down when i maxed out my first Klingon toon today.
    I had hopes for Major General(RA Upper half).... nothing, so i thought Lt General might have something.... but noooo.

    More aesthetics? I t was already pointed out by the devs that the ships would come out (maybe...I won't hold my breath) before the end of the month. However, there will be little, if nothing as far as customization for the ships...

    I want my long coat...I have been a LT Genereal since the day after season 2 came out...I see little to no eye candy, no toys, no pimp coat (that's what I call the coat), and most disheartening of all...

    NOBODY in my mess hall....They finally added random crew in the halls but WHERE are my drunken, rowdy klingons in the messhall? Where is the chef preparing the gagh?

    I know why they take their time....they are fed fans...not Star Trek fans....*humpf*

    I get the feeling that including the coat for Lt.Gen was the plan, but ended up not making it because it hangs past the knees and wouldn't mesh well with the running animation. It's essentially stuck to the legs and there's just no way that would look right on a character frequently in motion. On NPCs that spend 99.99% of their time standing still it would be fine, but would look like trash on a PC.

    They need to redo it. Make the bottom of the coat a separate piece with cloth physics so it'll sway as opposed to looking like someone glued it to your butt and thighs.

    You do know that STO supports working cloth physics right?

    Yeeeeees... I am well aware the engine supports it, which is why I said they should redo the coat and use said physics to make it work for PC characters.

    The Dev's don't believe its a good use of their time to develop things on the Federation side and to make sure those options are available here as well. We aren't even worth the time for Veteran rewards.

    I used to be so vocal about this. But after 2.0 ... and seeing how incomplete the level cap was ... no new rewards (like not even new BOFFs) on either side when it launched ... and then seeing an admiral's coat on one side ... but NOTHING on the other side ...

    Let's just say ... I've rethought my stance on these topics.
