Fed ships and the new enemy ships for deep space encounters to help us level... Feds have klingon ships flying around there sector... why not around our area in klingon space.
No. We have enough PvE as it is. Plus, I don't want to have to worry about flying somewhere, then running into some stupid DSE if I alt-tab while waiting to get to my destination.
I've avoided DSEs like the plague since closed beta. I'd like more content, but not that kind of content.
I can see that side of it, but I still want something like DSE's to help level up faster.
Maybe they could make the Empire Defense so that when you reach the nebula instead of having to scan to to find the fleet you pop right in. And have everyone enter the same instance, just like a DSE, so that they go quicker.
Also I think for the DSE's over all they should change it from just up and grabbing you, maybe instead have it where you get a pop up and you can either turn and engage or evade.
I could get behind a revamp of Empire Defense. It gets boring and lonely blowing up dozens and dozens of wimpy-a$$ Federation ships by yourself. Maybe structure it like Starbase 24, and include some PvE ground action on a central starbase?
Empire Defense is exactly like DSEs on the Fed side, but in a fixed location.
Except that you have to scan nodes/anomalies to actually get into a fight, which is just a complete waste of time. Also, Empire Defense is not open, so you have to group up before you scan if you want to play with another player(s). The coolest thing about DSEs is that they're open and dynamic - you can have a large group of players helping one another out in the same DSE, without having to group up beforehand.
I say: keep Empire Defense as it is, but remove the stupid scanning prerequisite and make them open to all players - like fixed-position DSEs.
...<pertinent parts>

By having coding in the game to support this sort of "Space Challenge" by NPC's, it could also be used by players to intercept, challenge and engage other players in sector space.

The code's already there - occasionally you will get a pop-up when you get close to a DSE asking if you want to "talk" to it. At least, you used to.

Really? I guess you like doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and.......
