Lethans and Gloves

When I first made my Lethean, pre Season 2, he did not have gloves on. Now in Season 2 as soon as I get to the "Customize Your Uniform" it puts gloves on his hands and there is no option to take them off.

So I ask, why must my Lethean have gloves?
