... dstahl's comments about refit Vor'Cha, D7, and Be'rel classes in his State of the Game article?

"You are going to see new ships ,such as the Nebula and Excelsior refits for the Federation, and the Vor’Cha, D7 and Be’rel refits for the Klingons."

That's two Battle Cruiser refits, with no mention of a Raptor refit. It makes me wonder what the differences between the Vor'Cha and D7 refits will be. Anyone have speculation? Maybe the refit Be'rel can fire while cloaked? (In our dreams, huh?) :p

    I did notice it.

Regarding the B'Rel: Torpedo-Fire while cloaked has been implied, whether it will be actually implemented depends on whether the team can make it work. I figure currently the worst thing that can happen with it is that it will be entirely cosmetic feature that costs you a console slot. :) But that remains to be seen.

    Regarding Vor'Cha and D7 - no clue.

Oh, I'm particularly interested in the D7 refit; that's my ideal Klingon design. Since there's two Battle Cruiser refits, it makes me wonder if they will be rather different in design, instead of solely unique powers. I kind of hope the D7 will remain highly maneuverable and "Raptor-ish", perhaps with a boost to Tactical Officer stations while retaining a solid Engineering base; make it tough with teeth. 'Course, I'm also hoping for a Battle Cloak for the D7 also.. but that's wishful thinking. But hey, Birds of Prey have two unique features-- Universal Slots and Battle Cloak! They can at least come off of one of those... y'know, for the good of the Empire, and all that. ;)

    @KillingMeSoftly

Hoping for same, D7 is my favorite as well. When it becomes available, c'mon...

On a related note, would you care to update your "Turns on a Dime" thread?

I ended up rolling two KDF toons largely due to being interested in this build, am loving it. Couldn't decide Tac or Eng, now have a BG5 Tac and Cpt10 Eng. My Fed toons are gathering dust.....

It will likely be a little bit before I'll be able to update it. I'll have to level up to LG1 and test out how well the build fairs in that arena. I believe the core idea of the build will remain sound; if you have any experience using it, especially as a Tactical Captain, please share it in the thread. :)

I'm interested in learning about the refit Vor'cha and D7 -- they have better turn rates than the Negh'var, especially the D7. Depending on how they're implemented, I may have to revamp my guide considerably! Who knows when they'll be released, though... hopefully very soon.

    OK would be happy too.

Thinking about it a bit like you I will wait for Season 2, right now I guess all bets are off. I can see where Boff trading can make a difference for Tac in a cruiser. As I am not in a fleet I may be SOL until it is not just face to face however.

Will say I loves me some EWP. Will even be handier I expect with cloaked Defiants sneaking around. Nothing says have a nice day Fed like a fast turning cruiser with DHC Disruptor Cannons spewing green plasma :D

Related note, I did less PVP than I expected to leveling up, games didn't pop that often alot of the time. My time played upon dinging BG5 was 2 days, 12 hrs.

correct me if I am wrong but compared to the other T5 ships a D7 will look tiny for a cruiser.

My BoP pretty much dwarfs it.

I'd take cosmetic variable wing position over a Cloak Torp, as once you fire it, people will rocket toward where it came from and scan to find you

    It doesn't need to be a D-7 refit, 7but7 a new D-7 class, like D-7 MkXI, D-7 MkX (carrier verion), or D-77.

Yeah, variable wing positions would be interesting. Can have one setting for high attack/maneuverability, and another for defense and raw speed. Make it a toggle, not a power, that modifies your stats in some way.

I am more interested in the Vo'cha refit because that ship needs a better turn radius. It takes al ong time to turn that ship as compared to the Negh'var. The Negh'var turns way more better than the vor'cha. Even though the stats say other wise. I know this because I fly a Negh'var and it turns way better than the current Vor'cha. The Vor'cha is my favorite Klingon battle cruiser and should get a refit and place in Tier 6 as a General's version of the famous captain's design since it was used for High ranking officer's and the High Council members. Curious to see if it will be customizable too.:D

Go fly a Galaxy. You'll find yourself more than happy with any non-carrier ship afterwards.

yeah, people build prototypes all the time without blueprints.
