Hello fellow warriors! I have a PvP problem I can't seem to figure out. Right now I fly a Raptor and I'm a Tac capt. at BG5. I use HYT3, Beam Overload 2 (soon 3) and Tetryon weapons all around. So two dual cannons, dual beam, quantum torp and 3 turrets aft. With this setup I can take on a cruiser and usually come out victor.

One group I have an issue with are some cruisers that spam RSP. No matter what I throw at them they take and will have no effect on them. So my question is this, (cause I am seeing this more and more now) what can I do to get around these RSP spammers? I have seen these guys take on a fleet of ships and never die.
In fact these guys will be at the top of the damage chart, even over the Klingons!

Please understand this is not a complaint, I'm not crying nerf or saying they are overpowered. I just want some
insight or opinions on how I can get around this. I know I still have a lot to learn but that's why I'm here asking.

Well you cannot always get through the RSP and you shouldnt, it beeing able to survive is the cruisers purpose.

But targert subsystem 2, and even better 3 if you get this any way helps a lot. If that turns of shields, RSP or not you hit naked hull.

Cool thanks for the info guys. Ya I totally understand that RSP needs to be effective, I don't want to have an all powerful ship that can do anything. I'll look in to Target Subsystems and see if I can make it fit, that might just be the thing I need.

One thing to remember is that, if they are covering themselves with RSP, they are not covering an ally with Extend Shields. So, given the situation agrees with it, you may be better off just ignoring the guy and going after someone squishy while you wait for the RSP to wear off.

Ramming speed is 100% shield penetration. :D Use evasives or even impule in to use because it does more damage with more speed.

Yes open your eye they are built to fight together and they are about as worthless as they come. If your not in team with poeple built to fight togeter here wht you do fly to the eage of the map and warp.

Depending on how, or better yet when, you use the following skill Tykens Rift it could work for you. I use it mainly as an opening along with scramble sensors. If anything it gets their pants a little browner than their noses already are, silly feds tricks are for science people. Meh, so im not a science guy, at least I carry big honkin guns. :D

Change target and kill that one
Doing zillions of damage on just 1 ship that refuses to die is a waste of effort, go for winning the match

When a Fed pops RSP, I like to jam sensor them so they can't attack while they are untouchable. When the RSP is over they are back in the crosshairs again. Everytime a cruiser turtles up for defense- take away its offensive and its just clutter on the battlefield.

Thanks Roach, this was a great and much needed info for me. I never had an interest in jam sensors before cause I needed science team and hazard more. I changed my skills around and went to BoP with two jam sensors and that changed everything. I just wear them down with a mix of jam sensor and battle cloak. I still get to keep my damage the same but my survivability is way up.

Also this was a question for 1v1 battles cause I like to go off on my own and find the stragglers. I'm in this for the hunt and I like the challenge of taking on bigger prey.

Glad you found it was helpful, but I can't take credit as I learned from someone else.:)
