ok, this pvp in this game is messed up. with my cruiser i cant even take down one side of a fed shield by myself while a fed cruiser can destroy me without me even damaging their hull...
The Klingon Battle Cruiser is not weaker then the Federation Cruiser... thats a fact. So the only possible reason for you problem must be you. Instead of posting this QQ in the Klingon Faction Forum, you should go to the Battle Cruiser Forum and try to gather some information to improve your gameplay.
Nothing of the sort was mentioned in the beginning post, just that 1 cruiser couldn't take down another cruisers shields.... no levels were mentioned. But surely you would have noticed the large +20 on the target reticle??
Probably didn't have his weapon power very high. I was fighting a fed science ship yesterday during Borg Hunt and he was hitting me with spit wads. I realized though he had his shields at full 100-125 power because of his fast default shield recharge rate.
As you know, offense always wins that over time. At the end of the match the guy accused me of cheating, because he couldn't hurt me. I told him to check his power. He can cry all he wants, but I play a science ship on my Fed and knew exactly what I was seeing.
If you have no power in weapons, don't expect to do a lot of damage at Tier 5. The AI may roll over against weak firepower, but players won't. Lack of EPS also hurts those who use big cannons, better to stick with regular cannons and turrents than try to use the heavy stuff... you'll put out a lot more damage over time, particularly with buffs like rapid cannon II.
1) Yes I agree with the others on power. Dont know how many times I have switched to Shields or balanced for one reason or another fully intending to shift back to guns but forgetting. I see that I am firing at the Fed and not doing much. Then I realize my setting is off : )
2) Next thing to remember that there are many different damage mitigation options in this game. If it was a Science ship you were shooting at, even more. It really doesnt matter if you are using phaser, disruptor or antipoloron there are mitigating items in hull, shields and skills that will reduce your damage.
My suggestion is similar to the others. Make sure you have an EPS flow regulator (at least one). Make certain you have weapon batteries (when you drop from full impulse). Also go for purple gear when you can get it (through Marks of Exploration or Medals for PvP). I almost have a full set and I do very well usually. I still get mysteriously hulled with my shields up every now and then though - I got to find that combo still.
Also I wanted to point out that I have been in many PvP groups that just didnt work well together. Heck, I have even see KDF just sitting there floating cloaked not doing anything or doing a slow ride to cap a point. So some groups work together and want to win. Some group members just want you to win it for them.

The numbers sometimes don't overcome skill. Not saying you have no skill. Just saying ... if you go up against 3 really good opponents, you can lose sometimes.
The shield thing, most likely involves judicious use of Reverse Shield Polarity, Emergency Power to Shields, the engineer power for Shield Harmonics, maybe a Shield Battery, or some extended shields or some science team action. It happens you know? You go up against a fed ship tricked out to keep its shields on and you can't eat through it quick enough.
Also if your teammates didn't focus the fire on the same ship ... you're not gonna get the shields down if they have tricks.

Pvp is not messed up. Its your lack of knowledge of builds and specing and out right lack of skill. Take some time and go the cruiser section of these forums and do some research. Don't expect someone to hand you the magic key to sucess. Pay your dues and dont be lazy.
PVP changed. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't PVP.
PVP changed in favor of the Feds. In this case, it is a topic up for debate. I'm not saying Feds are overpowered, now...but the Feds are winning far more matches than before. The critical question for me is whether the Klingons were overpowered before and now things are even or imbalanced in favor of the Feds.
My hypothesis is that Klingons PVPd better with relatively squishy ships from being conditioned to fight as a pack from the start. The latest patch nerfed them anyway. I'm still not clear on all the tweaks in the patch, but things favor the feds, now, so Klingons will lose in evenly matched PVP fights. If either faction has five captains who try to go-it-alone in a match, then they will lose---which is fine---but the Klingons are losing consistently when their side seems to be doing everything right against an evenly matched Fed force.
The lack of discussion about this has surprised me and made me doubt my conclusions---but I'm not going to leave the OP hanging out there by himself when I fundamentally agree.
I have two FED RA5s and two Klingon BG5s. I just want to see things even. At the moment, I know my Fed characters can dominate post-patch.

there is a bug in Klingon PvP genius, u should learn to shut up sometimes when people make a valid point about general gemeplay.
Probably u fully know that this bug exists since the server crash 3 days ago, but u like flaming better then fair play.
This bug is real and has absolutely nothing to do with how he/she plays, enroll as a Klingon and do the hard work for levelling up instead of being a disrespectfull #$###@ like in this post..

Ok, how about you highlight the part from the OP which was supposed to tell me something like that ?
ok, this pvp in this game is messed up. with my cruiser i cant even take down one side of a fed shield by myself while a fed cruiser can destroy me without me even damaging their hull...
The only thing I get from this is "PvP is messed up cause my cruiser has no chance against a fed cruiser"... so please go bully someone else... its not my fault when the OP fails to make himself clear
There is a huge difference between a level 11 LTC using the MK2 weapons he left T1 with and a level 20 LTC using MK4 gear.
There is a huge difference between a ship with maxed-out, properly trained bridge officers and one with defaults, random abilities, or untrained abilities.
There is a huge difference between a ship piloted by a player who knows how to stack resistance buffs to protect himself and the same ship piloted by a player who doesn't understand how the powers interoperate.
There is a MASSIVE difference between a team of ships fighting individually and the same set of ships watching each other, using support abilities, and focus firing.
There are real balance issues in PvP, but most of them have to do with Cloak, SNB / VM, or the crazy high damage output of properly equipped Escorts and Raptors. The OP's complaint is classic whining from someone who got his socks beat by better geared, more skilled players and decided to blame the game instead of his own lack of skill.
Oh, but Capture and Hold is still severely bugged. Capturing nodes takes an excessively long time, while UNcapturing them can be done nearly instantly. It also seems that Red Team captures the nodes slower than Blue Team, even following the fix to the post-patch issue.
Like many of the BG5's here I have done a ton of PvP, before and after the patch. Aside from the wonderful delevel award for entering Cracked Planet and Solar Winds I have seen too many definite hits (in nerfing that is). I don't doubt that they may happen and that the developers don't always advertise the changes they make.
I certainly agree that the Cap and Hold maps are funky. I have seen it where it takes two minutes to cap or more. However I have seen, at times, one fed can flip the point immediately even though it was fully capped. I am not suggesting they are cheating. I am saying that I believe the changes to the mechanics of Cap and Hold has had an impact on game play. Personally I wish they'd go back to the old Cap and Hold method, which I thought made games quick and fun.
The one issue that perplexes me is that I have nearly all purple gear and a good set of BOs and proper skills, but I still get hulled with nearly full shields from time to time. I dont think they are cheating either, I would like to know what combination of skills (character/BO/ship type) that allow you to do this. Maybe it is an unintended imbalance issue, who really knows.
I though would have to take issue with the we can't win 1v1. In ground and in space I have been able to solo many Feds 1v1, both in my BoP and Negh'Var. Its practice and equipment, maybe its also a bit of luck.
I can agree that it may seem overwhelming at times when you enter a map to find you are the only KDF or 1 of 3 against 10. I think we have all been there.

Usually science ships and officers have the tricks to mess with shields. Combine that with some weapon choices that aren't phasers or disruptors and shields can drop fast.
OR ... it could just be a lucky shot from Phasers with their tiny tiny chance to drop a subsystem (occasionally they drop your shields).
Rare. But it happens.
That's all I got. Science Ship forums might have more talk about these kinds of tactics?
Saw it happen tonight, being hit by an Escort, hull dropped to 50%, shields went down to 20% and boom. Took him about 4 seconds to blow up my Negh'Var. Looked at my combat log, antiproton doing insane damage with RF III, bypassed my shield prolly, if he had Antiproton 3x DHC and Turrets... go figure, he hit me between 1800-2800 dmg per hit........ i figured i gear up some AP Beam Arrrays Mk X i had in the bank, the result wasn't that good as that Escort, but i could see a different alright when i equipt the 2 beams upfront, my targets went down faster then normal this time, lot faster due to taking hull damage. Go an try it your self, i bet if i can gear up 3x AP DHC front and 4x AP turrets back, 2 or 3 EPS...Rapid Fire 2 and voila. Try it yourself, you be amazed

Our fleet looked into the matter and came up with a viable defense against it.
Also, everyone might want to take a look at Resilient and Regenerative shields again, things changed, Covariant is no longer the undisputed king of shields ^^
also did some testing with a T5 Raptor, fully loades with Plasma weapons....amazing...The raptor is very fragile, but.......this is tricky, do not go in gung ho, easy flying rear or back side Alpha, Omage, tact team, Rapid fire II and HY II with Quantum Torp (i have 3 plasma DHC front, 1 quantrum torp and 3x plasma turrets back, 2 EPS Mk X, 4x prefire Mk X),,,works very good, first cruiser encountered was flat dead in 3 seconds, optimal appraoch was 5KM, Ofc, like i said, raptors are very very very fragile... so you have to adjust your tactic, back and rear is perfect... i enjoyed my PvP evening

Looking at your reporting date, this looks like you were experiencing players entering into low levels of PVP in their Admiral Ships. Due to the PVP-caused -39 bug, they were able to get flagged for low queues. They're health and hulls would be appropriate levels, but their shields, weapons and Bridge Officer stations would be at RA5.

nah, feds are very hard to kill since last patch, either they gained power or Klings lost power.

nope going to have to say ur wrong, i got in the match with 2 klings vs 5 feds and we won the match 15-5. they were not obviously highly experienced pvp'ers but they still show what the ships are really like and it is the skill of the player and his team that turns the ships into flying fortresses
1 match doesn't say it all. Don't get me wrong here, i am still able to kill fed ships, but before season 1 or after is a complete different story. 5 Klings shooting at 1 ship and it refuses to die ? Escorts that blowup ships in 2 seconds ? I never saw that happen before season 1. If i am lucky with my raptor i can take him down fast, with my cruiser i can't touch them. So doing 15-0 in a match doesn't say that much, keep PvP-ing and watch the scores.

I do tens of matches every day (GMT) and in almost every case the results vs escorts, cruisers, sci vessels is the same, they take a ton of damage in the opening few seconds. Some teams recover and you have to slug it out, a lot dont and you have a very fast victory.
I have been in a bop under continuous fire from the fed ball, as i am often the first one out of cloak, and every time one came back to the fight i have been the focus of its attack and i have finished without a death. If, through team assisatance, a bop can survive under those conditions is it not reasonable to assume that a more durable ship like a cruiser can do the same despite your effort to bring it down.

So please all ltry to listen to what he is saying before saying " learn to play ", " lack of skill ".

Learn to be decent human beings. The internet is not an excuse for a lack of regard for others.
I agree it may well be your power settings.
