Let me sum this up nicely and then everyone that disagrees can discuss it point per point.
Here is my reasons I believe that Klingon Empire dies today.
1. Federation PvP. Being that that the single most important way to level up a Klingon is through PvP and then removing (which will happen since feds going to want to play with themselves) the oponent will delay the pvp ques even further for Klingons or all together will negate the usage of PvP since so few Federation characters is going to want to PvP with Klingons.
if they do PvP here is reason number 2...
2. Cloaking being able to negates. The cloak is among the single most important parts of a Klingon strategy, it gives us time and oportuinty to plan and execute a strike vs a vasly stronger oponent in a 1v1 or 5v5 matchup. If you place 5 feds and 5 klingons in one spot both being equally good at PvP and cloak is gone the federation with their greater hull capacity and greater shields will win it hands down. Since so many new skills now is going to negate cloak you might as well remove it and then we will be stuck with an vastly inferior ships as far as hull and shields go, not to speak of that we do not still have a science vessel to speak of.
3. Lack of content. I am glad that im already BG5 and can concentrate on the raid episodes cause with the drop of PvP that will occur and the very small bone sent to us being only in captain level the levelling of a Klingon is going to be even more tedious and as such people will not want to play Klingon and thus they will leave to become Federation instead hance killling of an already bleeding Klingon nation.
If you disagree on these points I would ask you that you prove your point because I can prove everything I said in just saying for you go check out the release notes at

Oh and lastly to those who "enjoy the Klingon tears" and the whining etc, we are all players, remember that, we deserve some respect and if Crytpic would hit your faction as hard as it hit us would you sit down quietly and just let it go...? Hardly.
Thank you for the time and Qaplah'

I was playing FVF yesterday on tribble with the dev's and some of the feds startred whining about how cruisers are hard to kill, science ships and there skills.
All i can say is they will probably still queue up after realising Klingon ships are a lot more squishy than there Federation counterparts.
not a day or so, perhaps a month...but then...how will cryptic compensate the lack of levelling ability for the klingon players, they are the ones thats going to suffer greatly at this since there is precious few other alternatives to levelling with pvp.
KvK...ain't going to happen unless they amp up the sp rewards for the matches to match how long it would take since you know it as well as I that it would be a cloaking game...
I for one look forward to meeting FvF and kicking some butt...but its the players I care about, be it Klingon or Federation. We have to measure out equally the blessings and curses among the players and not favor one faction over the other.
Ten Ton Hammer: Are there any changes coming for PvP?
Craig: In the first update we are adding Fed vs. Fed because there is so much PvP going on in the game.
Bill: I think the good thing with introducing Fed vs. Fed PvP is that it will make it easier to get into a PvP match, there will be a larger pool of players and you wont have to wait as long for the Klingon player.
Craig: We just have to make sure that as the Klingon population increases that we dont harm that aspect of PvP with the Fed vs. Fed, we dont want to kill that off. So that the Fed vs. Klingon is the thing that everybody wants, but the Fed vs. Fed is the stepping stone in between.
Bill: easier for who? Federation yes, with Klingons its going to be a constant waiting time for Federation. Have you checked the NON Admiral sections of the PvP, its almost always twice as many Klingons in the que as Federation. Remove the federation and play them against eachother, exaly how many will that leave for the Klingons...? Yes your right...0
Craigh: Sweet, then explain exacly how your NOT going to hurt the Klingon with doing this, or are you actually that naive that you think it will not greatly affect the amount of arenas being able to be played per hour for the PvPing Klingon...?
You are KILLING the Klingon Nation by doing this and by the time you notice that "Ooops, Klingons are not getting PvP and we based 95% of their levelling on PvP..." we will have another drop of population in Klingon.
When we erach down and its only 50 players left that player Klingon or less, then what are you going to do? no matter content you drop on a dead faction its still going to be exacly that.... dead.
Those that are really bad will just assume when they play vs each other that they are great players and we are in fact OP because on a lvl playing field they do ok. However, once they meet a really good fed premade and get destroyed they will probably assume those players cheat and report them rather than accept they are not so good.
Hell i got some really bad hate from a fed yesterday in t5 on my tac because i blew him away while i was cloaked, just couldn't bring myself to tell him about jam sensors. what can you do, perhaps cryptic should use that nice station the feds have and hold a seminar on how to play in the holodeck
What is a way that choosing the DP could help you?
How can not choosing the DP hurt you?
Why does choosing the DP help some characters more than others?
When choosing the DP what are survival bonuses?
Which option keeps the game running faster?
The bounceback in this is that there is going to be yet another fall in Klingon numbers and new alts are going to be a slow process. The exploration clusters are the only viable leveling option at some tiers and despite what the DEVS seem to believe that is nowhere near as fun as fighting against real ppl.
As the Poor Cousin faction we got nailed yet again. But when we can't even show the kit we are wearing or vary our uniforms, have a proper science ship, have any real variation in ship design, have no PvE to speak of, etc, etc, etc I think we are just too far gone to fix in the 45days they have had since launch. Perghaps season 2 will help but to be honest I think we are looking at a year at least till the Klingons are a viable, even faction in all respects. Thos of us who have fallen in love with our avatars and the klingon faction will hang around for a while, so all is not lost yet.
In short if you want a challenge, difficult leveling, restricted options, unloved faction... I.E. you like to back the underdog, then the klingons are here and we will not go away.
Play yr FvF but if you ever dare enter our Queues you will lose. Man up feds and come and have a go
Qaplah'!
Lets say there will be a grand patch that will give us content etc this summer and there is new ppl coming along, how do you think they will get treated, they will be treated as the "sunny side klingons" those whom play Klingons when its easy and will not receive a great welcome in any fleeet thats going on now.
I for one will remain Klingon since I do have my BG5 and will continue with the content thats there but those below captain is getting royally screwed over by Cryptic and thats the bottom line.
Klingon players are now able to access their own star clusters.
It is under Formal Release Notes;
General;
-Klingon players are now able to access their own star clusters.
If we get exploration clusters, we have PvE. Perhaps not the episodic missions of the Federation, but we got something. That is better than nothing. And it will help us level.
Thats Klingon CAPTAINS can access the clusters if I am not totally wrong so those below are still getting the boot
Captains as in anyone in charge of a starship. From what I saw on tribble there is a cluster for each rank.
I am trying to remain positive but its pretty dim looking at the lack of substantive changes to make things better for us. I am not going to rehash all the issues that I as well as others have stated are killer needs for the KDF to thrive. All I can say is that the Cryptic developers don't hang out with the KDF at all and pretty much don't care if this faction lives or dies. Maybe this was always the intent, to have the KDF sparsely manned PC / NPC race. By keeping the value to being KDF down they can focus their limited resources on the Fed side.
For the Fed fanbois that think I'm a whining carrier pilot I'm not. For those who PvP I'm certain you've seen my Negvar and BoP. I just see Federation Online (oh I mean Star Trek Online) going the same way and making the same mistakes as Jedi Online (oh I mean Star Wars Galaxies).
For those on the Fed side that think many KDF players are over reacting I invite you to make a KDF character and try it out. You'll notice many things lacking.
