Request for DEVS to clarify what role they expect carriers to play

Just wanted to get a thread going where we can ask Cryptic to explain what they expect the Carrier, with the new restrictions, to offer in PvP and PVE.

We see little DEV responce on Klingon forums and it would be nice to hear what the Devs are offering in terms of future for the carrier, as well as clarification onf why the new restrictions on carriers, in light of the other nerfs/changes hitting carriers with a 1-2-3 combo of nerfs

Please support this thread so we can get some feedback on the future of the klingons most unique ship

    Devs don't speak Klingon. {{:-(

It would be a great day if the Devs started talking to Klingon players. An even better one if the would LISTEN to Klingons. We could tell them:

Put down the nerf bat and step away from the unconscious Klingon.

the carrier isn't our most unique ship, the BoP is. and there's little klingon PvE to speak of, and what PvE there is doesn't require a carrier anyway. PvP balance is the entire reason for the carrier change, and while the new role isn't exactly clear, the old role ("the ship that makes feds cry") was clearly not intended.

I agree with the bold part, however, with carrier being turned into a floating punching bag there will be absolutely no diversity on Klingon side. As it is I rarely see anyone flying a Nev'gar cruiser at T5, now all the carrier pilots will jump to BoPs. This will create another series of complaints along the lines of :"All Klingons fly BoPs, and they battle cloak and do too much damage :(".

Well lets see...THE CARRIER HAS BEEN MADE USELESS AND NO SELF RESPECTING GAMER/KLINGON WOULD USE IT.
Thanks to the devs. its nerfed and doesnt stand a chance in PVP, so do yourselves and favor and stick to BoP of cruisers. Way to go Cryptic, the feds whined and we get shafted again..aplause goes here...
You guys really need to balance the playing field, just when I thought it couldnt get any more scewed..it did.

OP: You will not get a reply on this from Cryptic. It'll probably get more nerfs before they even give the Klingons a decency of asking, "Why? What's wrong?"

You're confusing a nerf with closing an exploit. We knew it would end eventually.

Name one other piece of equipment we could unequip and still use.

Klingons are warriors. Stop crying and start acting like one.

The problem is that Cryptic doesn't seem to like the idea of carriers, despite it was those morons that implemented them to begin with.

So, why not make the "pets" more useful? How about lessen the launch cooldowns for them? How about speeding up those pets? How about putting more player control over them? How about making the BoP pets useful?

    On and on.

The devs quickly listened to Fedbear whining and started smacking the nerfbat on the Carrier. Yet longstanding Klingon concerns about the same vessel have not been paid attention to at all.

There's reasons why very few Klingon players actually fly the carrier.

I agree with this. I find it odd that they would listen 100% to the people who have NEVER flown one and not to the people who have.

To me the carrier is a flawed entity. I'm pro stoping an exploit, I'm upset that they go to look at the ship and then do NOTHING to fix the design and implimentation of it and its pets.

The carrier is such a screwed up theme in this game. It's like Cryptic was in the works of giving us a high tier Science Vessel but then realized they weren't supposed to implement one... since we don't have any Sci Vessels to begin with. Then they half-heartedly attempted a sort of "Space Pet Class" with poor results.

If they're going to give us a science vessel, alright, do it.

If they're actually going to make the KDF carrier rely on its launchable craft to do its fighting (like a REAL carrier would), then do it.

Just don't half-TRIBBLE the damn design. And to make things infuriating even more, Cryptic's FIRST action with the carrier is fix / nerf solely because Fedbears where whining about it. Yet despite Klingon players complaining for a long time about issues the ship has, we've been ignored. Just like the rest of the game.
