i wondered this when i first started a kliingon and just overlooked it untill i read a post that sorta made me think about it again, why is there aliens all over Qo nos, starbase and our ships as bridge officers, we are not the federation that just lets any race join our empire, you do not see this in the series,s or movies. when you go to your bridge do you see a bridge full of klingon warriors or a but of aliens lol

just a thought whats yours.:)

My thought was that the klingons would be willing to accept other warrior races who exhibit honor. Gorn and Naausicans are good choices for allies from the warrior side of things. I'm not sure how much honor they have but it always seems to be that honor was the corner stone of klingon society. If you have none, you have no respect from the empire and would never be anything more than neutral, or enemies.

Beyond those races I feel it should have been more limited. Thats now how you attract customers so I understand why it is that way in this mmo. I see very few klingons when I log into my klingon character. It seems that aliens are much more popular.

Main reasons for aliens being more popular

    1. Klingon traits are not all that useful
    2. Since Red side is a pvp faction people tend to want characters suited to which pvp they like, Klingons for example would be good probably if you planned on doing alot of ground pvp, but say you wanted to focus mostly on space? You would have to probably go alien to get the most out of that as +5% aggro really dosent help at all.
    3. Some people just want to look diffrent =)

They way i would have liked to see it Red side was the diffrent factions like Orion, Gorn, get their own ships rather than the Klingons just handing over a BoP, and have to work out some sort of 'rep' grind via PvP to gain access to the klingon ships, or ones from another faction.

Just the klingons giving a bop to just anyone who shows up, rubs me wrong some how.

You are not alone in that..its been brought up. But apparently no Gorn or Nausican ships for us in the forseeable future..per the last "Ask Cryptic" update. Personally, I think Klingons need a useful space trait to replace one of the ground traits. You'd probably see less "Aliens" at that point.

Right now though..you can make an Alien that looks Klingon...and pick all the useful space traits you want. I've seen a few people do that. Also, seen more than my share of "liberated borg" klingons.

    No Talon? :(

I think 'aliens' in general are overused, its the same on Fed side with almost all aliens looking like humans, but having 4 space traits. The seperation in space/ground is the issue. Make it so that all species have 1 mandatory space trait, one mandatory ground trait, and can pick one from each category from the list. I mean, what's the point in having different species if no-one plays them anyways?

I see them as mercenaries and conscripts from conquered races.

My tactical BG is a pure-blood Klingon, for science officer I went with an Orion. I contemplated making a wookiee officer but since there is no 'fur' body option, and your charater have to be in the uniform I decided against it.

Said it once will say it again, if the set races had better traits people would play them, the traits suck so people roll Aliens.

No thanks, I'm happy with my three ground and one space traits. I don't know why people make the traits that important, they're only small boosts.

Concerning the openness of the Klingon Empire: Yes, that's new, seems that they want to make a counter-Federation.:D

Exactly, that and the fact that most races Klingon side get **** poor customization in the character creator explains the Alien invasion.

Oh man this is the 10th time or more that I've heard this statement. Lets face it. Its a video game. On the other hand klingon space is big... think of all the alien races they've conqured. If you're strong you can rise in Klingon society. They defeted the gorn yet the gorn are in... the Orion's joined up with an alliance. So why is it that other races couldn't follow such examples.
