So everyone wants new content, right? some sensor contacts and a few missions that will give us rewards like the feds are great, but why not make pvp a even more viable way to level...
my suggestion is, make the medals that you get for your bracket of pvp, be made able to be turned in for XP... obviously scale it depending on level, but say for instance the commander bracket, maybe 75 medals be turned in for an extra 400 xp or something... itd be about the equivalent of 4 sensor contacts that the fedscan do for a turn in, right?
This might incite more pvp from feds too, because they obviously dont do it for the gear... lol
I can only speak for myself but I for one will be looking forward to some added PvE for the Klingon's. We are already being forced to PvP to level as it is right now the last thing needed is more forced PvP. I realize that there are a lot of die hard PvP junkies out there but please remember that not all of us live and sleep PvP.
Honestly I'm a klingon fan and at times (but not as often as one would think) a PvP fan. I use PvP as a spice. Its not the main course of my MMOing. Its like the salt on your fries in my opinion. WIth that said I desperatly want PvE content for my Klingon... I'm so sick of my RA5 fed character that I just don't get on her anymore. I just want to play klingon... I have since they were announced way back when.
For Klingons to be viable as a player faction, we NEED PvE... with PvE we will get a lot more Klingon players whereas at the moment you need to be hardcore to get to BG 5... and there are just not enough Klingon players as obsessive/compulsive as you need to be doing the same unchanging thing over and over and over again to level up all the way.
I recognise the same names in Admiral level matches on the Klingon side again and again, the 'experten' to be sure, but unless we get PvE to attract more players, we will not manage to replace attrition as people leave the game and STO PvP will be crippled by lack of Klingons at the higher levels.
I wouldn't mind Klingons being a PvP only faction, but for that to be viable we would need a permanent battlefield with stuff to capture and conquer, more maps and game modes, better itemization and alternate ways to improve your character by killing players only.
Let's face it, we'll never get that.
So yeah, I'll take some bland PvE to change my mind after spending weeks killing people in the same two PvP scenarios.
lol ok i can jive with that... just saying a relatively easy assist to those stuck in pvp mode or their only opton is to pvp, an added bonus of using those wasted medals to level would be nice.

Personally I love the RvR "neutral zone idea the best. But that will probably be a few more months away AT BEST. But a simpler system would add a some excitement.
it could be as simple as "deep space" nothing but a few twinkling stars and a couple of spacestations we could fight over. It can even be set up using the current map system Perhaps larger "outer boundries". First you come into the system and fight a heroic space battle for the "prize", then you need to board the station or ship and continue the PvP battle there. Have it capped at 20 per side or so. And have it ranked by player and fleet for personal and fleet braging rights.
It can also be set up so the more matches won in a row the greater the rewards +10% reward per consecutive victory perhaps. And something like "political points" for fleets get.
New content is overrated, especially PvP "content". New maps don't go very far toward making the game more interesting, nor do promises of meaningless rewards. PvP is the ultimate in player-generated content, and thus the only things that meaningfully affect the experience are the tools you give players to use: skills and game mechanics. As Cryptic seems to be loathe to update any of these to produce a nontrivial PvP experience (hint: SNB breaks everything), most of the PvP players have already left.
That leaves PvP dabblers who occasionally like to shoot at each other without regard for actual winning strategies, and MMO addicts who have somehow deluded themselves into believing that shiny tokens at the end of some long suffering make it all worthwhile. I suppose both of those types pay their 15 bucks a month, but from the perspective of a gameplay-oriented PvPer, the former is mindless, and the latter soulless.
IMO, the only way to add value to PvP is by making the PvP experience itself fun and enjoyable. That means good, solid, deep, balanced combat. Not maps. Not zergs. Not imposed solidarity between players on the same faction. Not marking your territory on every class M planet you come across. Fun, involved gameplay is what makes a game fun. If you want to add value to the PvP experience, make it better, not bigger.
We understand how the feds got to this point in history. They are "infiltrated" and have been attacked from many sides all of a sudden.
What about the klingons? They attacked the Romulans. Sure, but to what end? Why? The romulans fought back when they got the Hirogen, I guess.
They attacked the Gorn, Nausicains, Orions. Where are their planets? And in 10 years they have those races in the KDF?
W T F? Klingons brought a conqored race into the KDF 10 years later? No Terrorism from the conquored. No Revolts. Just "come on in"? The klingons are suppose to be brutal so what we THINK could have happened, most likely didn't. As a gorn, I would be showing up for work with so much explosives I could make my own black hole when i set it off in my own Neg'var.
How about the federation. Allies for 100 years and NOT ONLY are they at presently at war, but they seem to actually HATE each other all of a sudden. They go from being upset that the feds aren't approving of thier present behavior , to realizing that the feds are infiltracted by the undine to HATING EVERY SINGLE FEDERATION MEMBER. That is quite the 180. The Klingons have anger issues.
Need story, please. Easy to do. The game engine SHOULD have been able to provide this story IN THE 45 DAY TIMEFRAME.
Either,
1) the engine isn't as nimble as they promised or
2) Cryptic doesn't have a story
3) they have more important things to do than flesh out a faction

QFT. I would like Cryptic to really start being serious about the KDF as the "PvP faction. Right now, and moreso if they introduce FvF, KDF is the PvP faction only in the sense that it has no reasonable PvE.
If, OTOH, Cryptic started developing better, more immersive, PvP for the KDF (and in general), I think this would be great.
I have no issues with having a "PvP Faction". But "PvP Faction =/= PvE-less Faction".
As a KDF General I have seen a lot of PvP (as many of my fellow KDF BGs have). Personally I'm bored with the limited amount of maps and the messed up queue manager. I would love more things to do as KDF (PvE) wise. There is such a rich storyline on the Klingon side I find it silly that Cryptic couldnt come up with some content.
It is also laughable for anyone to believe that the Klingons were always envisioned as a PvP only faction. This was a lame attempt to explain away why Klingons don't have content. It is more likely that there were bigger ideas on the table (playable races and content) but these ideas were scrapped / seriously delayed due to internal forces (just a guess: Atari wanting some cash flow).
Why aren't the Romulans / Kardassian /( insert favorite race here ) playable? Why aren't there contested areas of the map where RvR for planets and resources are fought over? Why isn't there customization on the KDF side (clothing / ship design)?
Whats sad to see is that this game is taking a hard hit because of its lack of vision, from a storyline rich in thoughts and ideas. Its also sad to see the same attempt at catch, up by the developer, that we as experienced MMO players have seen before. Such as "Oh, we will insert that content in future patches and updates."
What we need is PvE / PvP AND RVR to make this game worth while. Not just a rehash of the same tired maps (now allowing FvF PvP) or more broken / can't form a Klingon group for Infected / Cure / insert Federation centric content.

And finally a person who's eyes are wide open. Who do you think will develop new content/pvp for Klingons.. whole 2-3 devs actually left assigned to this game? They have their hands full with Fed side, while everyone else was already pulled and thrown onto new MMO they are developing.
This patch is saying pretty loudly to everyone: 'Klingons are working as intended, now stfu and we'll copy-paste some exploration clusters from fed side'.

Put up a big warning sign - PvP area, if you enter you will probably DIE.
