Designing your own interior

Allright i just got an idea, might be redonkilously hard, or simply rocket surgery stupid, but it would be awesome.
What if each player could design his/her own star ship interior, and with the different rooms and posts and such comes an benefit that effects Space Flight Gameplay. Let me lead you down this rabit hole and lets see where we end up:

Ok, anyone here played City Of Heroes/City Of Villains? There you could design your own bases. It was great fun and it always felt good to walk around in your own base, since you knew it was your own base. what im thinking of is something similair.

Each ship/shipclass offers different contitions and sizeed maps to build on. Something like this:

There are currently 5 types of ships. The noob ship, light, medium, heavy and capital, right?
Now say that the noob ship have a Interior section that is 20X20 squares.
The light ships have an interior of 40x40 squares.
Medium ships would have something like 60X60 squares.
Heavy ships would then end up with 80X 80 squares
And subsequently a capital ship would have 100X100 squares.

Now on these Interior maps you place different Rooms. The rooms are for example:
Medical Bay
Tactical Center
Crew Quarters
Engineering
Science center
Astrophysics
Holodeck

and so forth and so on. Each room gives the ship different perks. Examples are as followes:

Medical Bay:
Your Crew regenerates faster in Ship Combat

Tactical Center:
The more advanced tactical centers gives more rooms for tactical consoles and such. If not, boosts tactical stats, depending on the room and whatever you place there.

Crew Quarters:
Gives the ship more crew.

Engineering:
Boosts the ships engines and auxillery power. Can place more engineering consoles and such

Science:
Can place more science consoles and such. Boosts Science skills. You get the drift.

Astrophysics:
Not sure about this one or what its effect should be, perhaps something with shields. I dont know.

Holodeck. A place to either create Misc rooms, such as a french bar or perhaps a little village in ireland. Not to forget a place to "Replay" old missions and such, if you want to. Or perhapos even create your own missions.

Im sure there could be more rooms than that. But im keeping it simple. ((But dont forget the captains ready room and Captains quarters. It is star trek, after all.))
Now then the different ship types would differ perhaps not so much in interior size, but rather in What rooms it can fit, how many of certain room types and so on.
Now that we have that clear, how to get the rooms? why not buy them with star Fleet Merit points or such? Perhaps schematics of rooms can drop from bosses.
What to fill the rooms with? Never forget Misc items. It is misc items that defines Your style. But what you fill the rooms with defines Your way of playing. Perhaps some things give your phasors a longer range. Perhaps some other thing make phasors more deadly at close range, perhaps the EMH boosts your crew resistance further.
Not to forget that there should be trophys from missions and story arcs. Like Ambasador B'vats Bathleth hanging in the captains ready room or things like that.

Now this solves a huge RP problem, that of ships interior. It gives further costumization to ship and playing style, it enables the possibility of Easy To access player made content, and it sounds like an over all good idea.

Im no fool, i know that it probably will take time to make such an idea come true, it will be hard and it will cost money. But that doesnt stop it from being a good idea.

If there are a dev out there reading this, please post a reply of what you think of it.
and if others want to post ideas, critizism, you name it ((Leave the "Ur durr durr RPers are st00pid" talk out though, please))

Not a bad idea in theory just unsure if its the direction Cryptic plan to go. I've heard rumors they intend to add some more rooms for ship interiors however.
