Enemy Weapons

O.K. this has been egging at me for the last couple of days while in combat. There is a battleship either Hirogen or Reman not sure which call the D'deredix Battleship or something like that. It has this purple looking torpedo that surrounds you in a purple cloud when it hits you. This purple cloud shut down everything in your ship and I mean everything. I can't transfer shields, fire, nothing. Does anyone know what weapon that is and is it possible for us to utilize that as well?

Also it has this other thing that takes all you systems offline but for only like a second and it destroys any mines or Heavy Plasma Torpedos in the vicinity. It looks like a ring that starts at the battleships center and expands outwards destroying any mines and taking your systems offline. Is that a skill or weapon and again are we able to get that one too?

    Yup you can get both

    The first one is called Viral Matrix and you can get it at Lieutenant commander Science officer station

    The second one I'm fuzzy on the name but you can get that one too at LT Cmdr or Cmdr can't remember

    The other ability is most likely the photonic shockwave. It fans out radially from the source and pushes you away while doing some kinetic damage. :D

    Viral Matrix .... I'm going to have to remember that one as it is a VERY nasty thing.

    Question ... Is there a way to defend your ship against it?

    Yes. Attack Pattern Omega heals you of science effects, and you can activate it during viral matrix. Otherwise, you can try to activate science team before you're hit by viral matrix to prevent the effects.
