Just like the idea a life form capable of warp speed. Encounter it try and study it have to choose between killing it or your ship have to make a choice and this choice leads to other things...

not all star trek has to be combat and guns some boring things like this helps change it up anyone else got any episodes they like to be seen turn into missions or at least an idea for a mission?
