I think it must be all the WoW kiddies used to spamming forums, starting petitions and whining until game changes are made. I like the state of the game (we barely even know much about the game yet) and appreciate the Sim feel of space combat. Kudos to Cryptic for pulling it off and if ANYTHING, please make it more difficult: I want a challenge and I like that skill and ship positioning are a huge part of combat.
For those spamming for changes: We know you just started playing STO because you're bored to death with WoW. But do us a favor and try to appreciate the theme of this game and the pro's and con's that brings.
You're in 2d space in a ship with no inertia shooting 'lasers' that go 10km or 'torpedos' that go 10km or 'cannons' that go 10km at the press of a spacebar.
If this is your idea of a space sim, I feel sorry for you.
Actually, I was there at the beginning of Open Beta. I never played WoW. I've been anticipating STO for a long time. I am also hardly a kiddie. I also do want the game to be fun. I also raised the issue of the Exploration Cruiser (and other T5 cruisers) as a bug/design flaw back in Beta as something crippling.
What else can we do to convince the Cryptic Developpers that this is important and needs to be corrected? This isn't just going to vanish. Well, unlress we capitulate and go play some other kind of ship... because I have way more self-esteem in myself to trap me into flying the Galaxy-class (a.k.a. the floating deathtrap). Capitulating, this said, doesn't fix the issue either. So, all we have left is to keep the argument up until the matter is resolved.
There were very comprehensive threads raised on the issue, providing feedback on why this is wrong. Red.Line made a great study on the matter. This isn't a matter of wanting the cruisers to fly like escorts... but rather to just make them more fun to drive around because currently, that's not the case for many - and those many disappointed cruiser captains knew what they were getting into when going cruiser. However, there was a flagrant lack of moderation there; one we try to express so that Cryptic can go and attend to the fun-poisoning mistake.
If you like the game fine, great. You want to congratulate Cryptic on thier hard work? Good. I also think they deserve the praise. But don't debase our arguments - some of us really care about this.

Is this post a joke?
