High Yield damage

When you use High Yield, and hit a guy with it, does it do damage based on the number of torpedoes you fire? Or does it do one damage amout even though its multiple torps?
I think what Im trying to ask is
If you use HYI and you fire 2 torpedoes, do the two tropedoes hit for x damage once or 1/2 x damage twice?

    The power's effect is to fire two torpedoes from one launcher and boost the damage it does, at least that's what I've seen it do.

    It's not based on the graphical representation of the torpedo, it's based on the launcher. So, it boosts the damage the launcher does according to what it says.

    I guess if you look at it, each torpedo does 1/x less damage individually, depending on how many were launched.

    i.e. If it launches 2 torpedoes, each one does 1/2 of the boosted damage of the launcher.
    If it launches 3 torpedoes, each one does 1/3rd of the boosted damage of the launcher.

    But, I am pretty sure that you can only activate this power on one out-bound launcher at a time. So, it will fire however many torpedoes, but it will do the same boosted damage of the launcher.

    Isn't it the case that HYT fires a number of torpedos each doing their own normal damage? So HYT II would be double the damage of just fireing one torpedo. I could be wrong though...

    basically it allows a torpedo launcher to fire multiple torpedoes at once, each will be the same as if you fired the torpedo normally.

    exception is plasma that fires a single very high damage destructible torpedo.

    HY1 fires 2 normal torpedoes
    HY2 fires 3 normal torpedoes
    HY3 fires 4 normal torpedoes

    Yeah, I think the point though is that 'graphically' it appears that multiple torpedoes are being launched, but gameplay-wise I think it treats it as one lump-sum of damage. I'm not sure it really matters one way or another, but if you check the combat log, I'm willing to bet that it only shows up as one hit, not several.

    nope its individual hits. hy1 will do 2 separate hits, hy2 will do 3 separate hits, hy3 will do 4 separate hits.

    Each will hit like a normal torpedo including chance to crit.

    Let's not forget that plasma torps launch a single huge torpedo.

    It should be noted that it appears that these torpedoes can strike multiple shield facings, not necessarily just the one the first torpedo hits.

    yeah there individual hits, which is great even if there shields arnt all the way down, first one usually finishes off teh shields then the rest slide right in

    Your Disruptor Turret - Rapid Fire I deals 166 Disruptor Damage to Mogai Escort.
    Your Quantum Torpedo - Salvo I deals 4081 Kinetic Damage to Mogai Escort.
    Your Disruptor Turret - Rapid Fire I deals 161 Disruptor Damage to Mogai Escort.

    Then 8 seconds later

    Your Quantum Torpedo Deals 3490 Kinetic Damage to Mogai Escort.

    First hit of the HY1 salvo impacted against a sliver of shields.

    (I believe my salvo shots critted though)
