Seriously - I have had my connection timed out a few times, had to restart, and today had a bug with Random Exploration where I would try to load a mission and instead get booted - and when I tried to log in with that character it wouldn't, so I would have to play my alt for 5 minutes. Then I could get back to my main. All sorts of little bugs but guess what? I'm having a blast and enjoying the game!
Anyone else enjoying it instead of using their time complaining?

I was in CB and OB, and I hated the grind. Part of that was because I had to do the low level missions five or six times with all the character wipes, but now that I'm into new territory (both in terms of sectors and missions) I'm enjoying myself a lot. I'm taking the time to read mission descriptions, go through all the chat options, etc. The enemy ships are starting to use powers more, which makes things harder, but I'm getting stronger, too. And there's always the lure of a new ship ahead of you.
As a side note, I finally put two and two together and realized why all the moons and planets are shattered. Duh. Seeing the effects of the Hobus supernova all over the quadrant is a nice touch.
Current main is much fun, I'm messing about testing BO skills and tactics etc, its quite fun in PvP. Shes Cmdr atm, but I take a good amount of time on all missions to soak up all the graphics and sounds
I must admit I started an RP character who actually writes up all her missions in Captain logs and supplementals... lmao... and to top that off I walk, and try and do it all in "realtime" *conciders seeing a shrink*
I did originally think I would make my Klingon max level first, but all the excellent Fed stuff has trapped me
Liking it myself. Haven't dedicated myself to playing it this weekend though and judging by the rage thats going on in the forums, things haven't been too rosey...
I think some people should quit for a night or so and do something else instead.
I just started my third character, a human female mercenary on Klingon faction. As much as I love STO, yeah when they said Klingon faction is lacking.....it is really lacking. The almost hand you the first 5 levels for free and i'm almost lt cmdr IAF as fast as it took me yo save the USS azura.
Good news though is Cryptic has Klingon faction overhaul second on their to do lust after the fix bugs.
Truthfully, STO has been the 2nd most smooth launch I've played (LOTRO being first), so all of the complaints really ring on the side of MMO/general gaming ignorance to me. I've had more issues with GTA4, Assassisns Creed, and Gears of War PC than STO.
I'm enjoying it. Very much so, in fact.
However I still think the game is very, very flawed for a multitude of reasons.
Yeah, same here. Not so much that I don't enjoy myself as I play, though. I bought the lifetime sub, so I don't really worry about spending money while things are half-implemented or broken.
I'm having a great time, I took down the dreadnought with a group for the first time last night. I'm just waiting for the free trials to come out so my friends can give it a try.

Not me.... I'm 404 of 654 in the stupid queue...Thats 12 shards that Cryptic is short from being able to let me play a game that I paid for.... Grrrrr

Hey, it's ok I do the exact same thing (except ALWAYS walking lol), but I lead an RP-Encouraging Fleet so RP is pretty important to us
I had my "i like this" moment tonight, for the first time in STO.
Basically i just went to Starbase 24 and was grinding the Klingons there for a few hours. But it was fun!. It reminded me of my skirmish sessions i used to have on Bridge Commander, or even star fleet academy. Im in an escort, with dual heavy cannons, photons and dual phaser beams up front and i was tearing through the ships there!
Also, it felt to me like the more damage i did - the more loot i got, i was getting a drop once perhaps every 2 or 3 ships it felt like. Within an hour and a half i had filled my inventory (and with lots of multiple's of battery's and consoles etc).
I went back to Earth Starbase before i logged out and sold it all for 25,000 credits. Using that i purchased a blue shield from the Exchange.
I left very happy!.
The game has ALOT of problems that need fixing, but the space combat is great.. and thats just the way it should be.
As a side note, I finally put two and two together and realized why all the moons and planets are shattered. Duh. Seeing the effects of the Hobus supernova all over the quadrant is a nice touch.
Wow...now that you mention it, it does make sense. Nice call!
And yeah, I'm loving the game. Wish they would iron out the mission bugs faster, but I know it'll get done. I'm not in a rush to get to endgame.
I couldn't even get into the game until yesterday (due to limitations of my own system, not Cryptic's problems), and now it's not accepting my retail key, so I can't get in today, either.
But I had a great time yesterday, and simply looking forward to when I can get back in.
Everyone's complaining about "this is broken", and "this isn't clear", and "I can't do what I want to!", but you know what? I must be doing something right, because I had nothing but fun.
I enjoyed it a lot, and expect to continue to do so.

Whats a blue shield? Ill have to take a look.
Yeah, there are bugs, but they are not enough to stop me from really enjoying the game and hopefully over time the game will get less buggy and have even better content )
I still keep thinking of warping into Sol and stopping to have a look round before docking. Then the biggest Galaxy type Cruiser warped in right next to me. Completely drawfed my little light cruiser, bless it, felt a little intimidated lol. Was different to the normal Galaxy, it had Round nacells? Anyone know what its called?

Seconded. Loving every minute!

Stuck at work for another 5 and 1/2 hours.
Can't hate on the people that have issues though.
A que system on a single server is not acceptable for any reason. End of Story.

Oh, and this is my first MMO, so yeah, I'm loving it!
