What do you do with the ancient artifacts that you find. Also what do you do with the mineral samples.

    They're crafting components. You need to accumulate a variety of different items and then go to Memory Alpha in the Alpha Centauri quadrant.

    But first go to the Sol starbase, go into the middle hub area, and get the mission to take some samples to Lt Romaine at Memory Alpha.
