One aspect of *good* science fiction is how it incorporates the "human" element.
Each member of our bridge crew should reflect a unique personality, and there should be missions that pop up then and again which allow us to learn more about the officer, and therefore become closer to him, her or it.
Perhaps I'm asked help to rescue my Andorian tactical officer's sister from pirates.
Perhaps I'm asked to participate in my Vulcan science officer's wedding on Vulcan.
Perhaps my Bajoran engineer has been accused of murder on a colony world, and I have to intervene to find the true murderer.
It is through these missions that we can get to know our officers and become closer to them.
I suspect my Bolian first officer has a talent and fondness for sculpting...I'd really like to find out for sure.
Another cool idea, you get kidnapped and your crew must rescue you. Suddenly instead of a tactical class player, you are playing as your first officer, who is an engineer or science or even the same class as you but different abilities.
More focus on building the relationships with your crew please. It's definably possible with this game, just need the writers on board!

My FO is a good one, but not sure if I'd trust him that much just yet. He seems like he might ragequit...bit of a hothead.
I love this idea. Plus, wd're at war with the Klingons and have Klingon bridge officers. I'm willing to bet Starfleet would be looking harder and them and would arrest some of them on suspician of treason and sabotage. It would be cool to have to prove their innocence.
I love how the posibilities are endless and the framework is there!
