Maneuverability of different ships

Can someone explain maneuverability raitings?

The ship lost shows escorts has having maneuverabilities of 15 to 20, and some cruisers of having values of 5. I also looked at my engine, and it shows +20 to turn rate.

Does anyone know what my real turn rate would be? Is it actually 20+20=40? Would a similiar engine in a cruiser give me a turn rate of 25, or would a cruiser change the stats of the engine?

How does this turn rate actually translate in game? It took me about 7 seconds to do a 360 in my escort. Any idea what it takes for a cruiser?

I don't know the answers to most of your questions, but it is good to know that turn rate is also affected by speed. The slower you go, the faster you can turn.

My new science ship maneuvers like a defiant. it rocks.

Almost all bonuses work as a percentage.

    So the math would be

    20 + 20(%) = 24

    Its turning speed.

The manovourability rating = turn speed.

Basically, your turn increases at half impulse/slower, and with more power to Aux. Then it adds on bonus's from abilities such as Tactical Pattern Omega II, which increase turn speed, Evasive actions, etc. And finally, it adds on the bonus's of console specific turn increases.

BUT you will never get a cruiser turning at the speed of a Escort thats got the same stats/maxed out turn.
