Preemptive Strike: Too easy now? (spoilers)

In closed beta this mission was impossible to complete solo - the Decius instakilled virtually all the federation ships with its thalaron weapon, even the San Jose. Now the thalaron weapon has a target limit and doesnt even do enough damage to Instakill a ShiKahr frigate - which is kind of pathetic. (I'm basing this off a ShiKahr surviving a blast with 23% hull remaining. I am not sure what hull it had before.)

I've done this mission twice in retail so far. Both times I was flying a Vesper, even though this is a Commander rated mission. Both times I was in a group.

Starfleet butchers the romulans anyway - they don't even need the player. Both times a Mogai charged out and got insta killed right off (starfleet torpedo alpha goooo) and it only goes downhill for the Empire from there.

Two times I got caught in the thalaron field, one time it didnt even hit me (target limit?) and the second time it did marginal damage.

I bet if I was flying a Sovereign I could solo the Decius. Picard is a noob :D

This mission starts in Rator in Psi Velorum. The mission text does say Rator but if you havent been keeping up on your patrols you may not know that you are supposed to go to psi velorum.

Thank you " Psi Velorum" is missing in the mission log details. Yep I bet the NPC who gave this mission said so but it should also be in our mission log information.

I was very disappointed. For my first encounter with a scimitar it looks like they just took a standard Gorn dreadnought and pasted a scimitar looking skin on it. The shields seem dead on when I fight them in signal contacts, but theleron radiation attacks kill entire planets! Ok so this is the streamlined faster version that doesn't take seven minutes to charge up, but can't you at least give it some of those thirty some odd photon bays it's supposed to have or a decent combat cloak? maybe an ability that makes it go tranleucent and increase your miss chance by like 30%

I know you don't want to spank players who try to solo, but that's why you have a fleet with you. If Scimitars aren't threatening, it doesn't feel like Trek. It downplays nemesis and makes Picard look like a noob. Please stop doing this.

Picard is a noob tho count how many ships he blows up in TNG and the films, count how many you blow up getting to the level for the mission.

then count how many he pwned off screen during the Dominion war. That's what I thought... Picard owns you so hard he doesn't even need to talk about it.

Picard's High Yield quantum torps one shot Borg spheres. He doesn't need to prove anything. He hit Captain 10 ages ago but didn't even spend all his skills to hit Admiral cause he's that badass.

Thats cause of the skill cap, he is putting all the spare skillpoints he earns into making sure his engineering, tactical, and science officers are much more efficient (comes from being a borg).
